Dinner Drowsiness
A sleepiness experienced after a very filling meal.
Causes
The sleepiness arises when the body is focused on digestion. In particular, this has been observed after eating large amounts of Mountaineer's Pie, but any heavy meal can have similar effects.
Symptoms
"You should go to bed." - "But I'd need to get up for that..."People become sluggish and prone to dozing off. If they fall asleep, they may sleep for several hours.
Treatment
People are well-aware of these effects, so they typically plan around it. Those who work hard during the day tend to eat such meals before a good night's sleep.
Prognosis
A healthy Werewolf will usually sleep deeply and calmly before they wake up energized by their meal.
Cultural Reception
"A warm bed and a full belly invite a great tomorrow."Heavy meals and the ensuing drowsiness are very common in Werewolf society, due to the harsh climate of their homeland and the hard work needed to survive there. Those Werewolves who immigrated to Vinalur often kept similar diets, partly out of tradition and partly because they continue to have physically-demanding jobs. Sadly, this has become yet another excuse for the Elves to look down on them. Favoring lighter meals themselves, they view such over-indulgence and the resulting "laziness" as uncivilized and further proof that the Werewolves are little more than animals.
"Clearly, only a senseless beast would eat more than it can handle. They think with their guts, not their brains."
