Phasnosh Civilization
The Phasnosh Civilization was an ancient empire who, at their greatest extent, had expanded across Autria and Oduth.
Disbandment
Modern scholars, archaeologists, and adventurers have found evidence of a great cataclysm that befell the Phasnosh. Much of the evidence points to a grand hellish invasion from the demon lord Baal, which still resonates in parts of the world with various small Cults of Baal popping up from time to time. Some have suggested that the Phasnosh's own desire to create life from unlife brought on the wrath of the demon lord who viewed it as an affront to his domain of Undeath.
Territories
Intercontinental Empire
At its peak, the empire of the Phasnosh people extended across both Autria and Oduth, along with modern day Cralac and Garby Haven. The rapid growth and expansion of the empire was facilitated in no small part due to the technological prowess of the Phanoshian scholars coupled with the research of their battle mages. By the end of the 25th Century, AoS, the empire reached its territorial pinnacle, absorbing dozens of different cultures and peoples, not all of which got along with one another. In order to maintain order and facilitate control over such a vast territory, the emperor ordered the creation of large scale teleportation circles in all major cities across the empire. This would allow for the rapid deployment of troops to trouble spots, as well as improve communications between regional lords and the upper echelons of government.Military
Forged by Fire, Molded by War
By the 23rd Century AoS, with the Empire in decline, the emperor Videric ordered the creation of a breed of soldiers undyingly loyal to the emperor and unwavering in their resolve. It would take an additional 14 years of research, but eventually Phanoshian technomancers and mages created the Warforged. The precise means by which they were created has been lost to time, but some scholars contend that the Warforged were actually groups of children that had been taken at an extremely young age and trained to be loyal soldiers. However, the most archaeological evidence points to the fact that the Warforged were, in reality, constructs. The degree to which they held true sentience is debatable, as the entire race has become extinct. Further, the lifespan of the average Warforged remains a gap, as it is believed that all were eventually destroyed or killed.Technological Level
The scholars of the empire were vastly ahead of their time, and even more advanced than many of the kingdoms of today. The imperial leaders recognized early on that if magic couldn't be relied upon to advance a war effort, that they would make that magic by way of technomancy, or the magical art of controlling machines through supernatural or metaphysical means. This was most evident with the Phanoshian creation of the Warforged, which were used to great effect to augment their military. It was
