Session 36: The Culling of Rodents pt.1 Report
General Summary
Emirkol was defeated.
Glebnor searched his memories for secrets about their origin. They discovered that Zerask had used psionic abilities mixed with mind-flayer technology to create the plasmoid to serve as slaves. However, three such oozes showed intelligence and were not as easily controlled as the others. Zerask trapped them on Collier, where he also stored his spelljammer in disrepair. He had promised to free them once his spelljammer was in working order again. As for Glebnor, Zerask did not believe they had any potential and left them abandoned on Bral.
Glebnor piloted the Hard Nut to the asteroid, and they entered a minefield. Stinkbreath, Geasle, and E.L.B.O.W. could take out some of the drones with the ballista, but Glebnor showed great skill in avoiding most of the explosive drones. Unfortunately, they could not prevent them all from striking the hull, and the Hard Nut took massive damage. Despite this, the plasmoid was still able to land in a ravine near the base on the asteroid.
Geasle met them head-on first, and Glebnor came to his aid. Azid stood back and let his army of undead slow down the guards. This allowed Stinkbreath and E.L.B.O.W. to start attacking the clockwork guards from afar. The well-prepared team defeated the guards, but the alarm was still ringing.
Azid discovered what he believed to be some lift. While inspecting it, Stinkbreath tried to use a control panel to stop the alarm. Glebnor tried to help him, but the two only made it worse. Azid finally came over and tried activating the lift as more guards entered the room. They quickly jumped onto the platform as an invisible force raised it to take them out of the hangar.
He approached the throne and touched it briefly before suddenly vanishing with it.
Left alone in the room, the party looked around to decide what to do next. That was when more guards ran into the room. Once again, the team was able to deal with the threats deftly.
These proved to be a much more significant challenge than the previous guards. Then, to make matters worse, a mechanized monstrosity with two axes for arms exploded through the floor. Glebnor saw that Master Carvedous himself was piloting what appeared to be a mechanized suit.
In the following fight, Geasle and Stinkbreath were nearly killed, and Azid had to struggle to flee the reach of the mech suit. Carvedos targeted Azid and Stinkbreath in particular, having seen what they could do in the past. It was to no avail though, as Azid polymorphed Geasle into a tyrannosaurus rex and used misty step to get away. The party defeated the abominations and the mech suit, leaving Carvedous trapped inside it as they stood around him.
Glebnor's Revelations
After the battle with the eldritch lich, Azid began looking at the corpses for potential minions. As he did, Glebnor went to see what Zerask left behind. They found a series of glowing crystals that acted as psychic journals for the mind flayer. They found one in a hidden compartment, giving them insight into his most personal thoughts.Glebnor searched his memories for secrets about their origin. They discovered that Zerask had used psionic abilities mixed with mind-flayer technology to create the plasmoid to serve as slaves. Confronting Carvedous
Nearly two weeks after this happened, Captain Eagerwhisper had summoned the Rat Pack to his office. He was pleased to inform them that the Fleet had uncovered the location of Master Carvedous. The slaver was staying on an asteroid near Collier. The party immediately began plotting their plan of attack. Before leaving for their mission, Eagerwhisper gave them a sending stone so they could contact him in an emergency.Glebnor piloted the Hard Nut to the asteroid, and they entered a minefield. Stinkbreath, Geasle, and E.L.B.O.W. could take out some of the drones with the ballista, but Glebnor showed great skill in avoiding most of the explosive drones. Despite this, the plasmoid was still able to land in a ravine near the base on the asteroid.
The Guards
They climbed a narrow ridge leading up to a small hanger. Inside the hangar, there were five two-man ships that Glebnor identified as goblin darts. They were used as small, close-range spelljammers to intercept and attack larger ships. While Azid and Stinkbreath went to inspect the vessels closer, an alarm went off. Clockwork guards poured into the room.Geasle met them head-on first, and Glebnor came to his aid. Azid stood back and let his army of undead slow down the guards. The Throne of the Gods
The lift took them into a large room, and at the far end, they saw a giant chair that appeared out of place in the otherwise clean and metal room. Yucatan Dan stepped towards the chair as more guards came rushing towards him. With a single swing of his massive sword, the angel smote a dozen clockworks before they could even get close to him.He approached the throne and touched it briefly before suddenly vanishing with it.

The Mech Suit
Geasle could hear a banging sound coming from below them. He lowered his ear to the floor and could feel the ground vibrate with each clawing sound. He rose to tell everyone that something was happening beneath them. As he did, two large clockwork abominations came in from either side of the room on what appeared to be centipede legs. The doors quickly sealed behind them as they entered and attacked. These proved to be a much more significant challenge than the previous guards. Then, to make matters worse, a mechanized monstrosity with two axes for arms exploded through the floor. Glebnor saw that Master Carvedous himself was piloting what appeared to be a mechanized suit.
