Dane Kings

Dane is a prominent Trader at the biggest Trading Company warehouse in Khadan . His shop will buy and sell almost anything, and Dane has enough contacts to make any trade happen. Though he is one of the youngest Traders in the Company, he is already vying for a permanent, more secure stall in order to be able to trade and store more valuable merchandise (like precious gems and metals). He is good at reading people and has made a name for himself as someone smart, capable, as well as no-nonsense and fair. He is a 'clean Trader' in that he refuses to buy or sell anything to do with blood, bloodletting, labor, or human trafficking. He is mostly a loner with the exception of his contractor, Zaid , and his best friend, Althea Kane . He has a jet-black karon with red eyes named Anubis, who he takes with him almost everywhere he is allowed. Dane is hot-headed, suspicious, and angry, as well as fiercely loyal to those few who have earned his loyalty. Dane is ready and able to throw a punch at any moment and often has on the Trading Company floors.   He and Alt are attempting to recreate the Serum using a scattering of half-burned notes they found in a broken, abandoned factory left standing from the Serum Riots. Alt believes she can study and experiment enough to bring back the Serum, and Dane is there to privately fund her efforts. The goal, ultimately, is to make a successful Serum and then release it to the public for free. While Dane has reservations about that last part, he feels obligated to use everything within his power to help Alt obtain her goals.   Though Dane has few connections to his family, he is half Microshan by blood. He has lived his entire life on the surface and has no plans on making a journey down to Microsha. As his half-blood status has never raised issues, Dane has never bothered to look into the Microshan culture or heritage. Though neither group quite claims him as their own, his life has been spent with sunlight. He carries a lot of Glyssian misconceptions about Microsha and Microshans, and he feels more Glyssian than Microshan.
