The Red Circle

The Red Circle is comprised of the greatest seven Immortal Commanders that the elite warrior group can field. These commanders are chosen for a combination of their strategic, intellectual, dialectical, and of course martial prowess. They are peerless beyond their already peerless comrades, perfected beings that are perfectly honed blades that their lord wields against his foes. Led by Immortal General Shakan, believed to be the first and greatest Immortal, the Red Circle acts as Harbinger's body guards whenever he journeys outside of the walls of the palace, which occurs rarely.   Otherwise, the Red Circle sees to the task of overseeing and directing their fellow Immortals on their required missions, sending them to areas in need, points of interest delivered to them from their close allegiance to The Assembly. This enhanced, expert intelligence gathering of The Assembly allows the Immortals to enact Harbinger's will with expedient force.   The members of The Red Circle are as follows:

The Red Circle all bear extreme reverence and respect for one another as honored warriors of The Immortals, but all bear even more reverence to Immortal General Shakan, believing him to be a truly divinely blessed Immortal that bears the will of their god into battle. Otherwise, all hear each other out, debate one another on the merit of one decision or another, and engage in respectful, if not heated arguments on the merits of choices they are required to make.

The public agenda of the Red Circle is simply to protect the Emperor and when not doing that, direct The Immortals.

The Red Circle bears extremely potent assets. Their Red Dragons, their vaults of highly enchanted and powerful weaponry, and their absurd financial liquid wealth that can be accessed at any time to procure quite literally anything they do not already have. The Red Circle, even moreso than The Immortals, are never found wanting for anything. Their deep, highly protected vaults are rumored to store anything from ancient archaeoxenotech, Old World technology, and even new highly advanced prototypes surrended or given to them as gifts.

The Red Circle finds its foundation in the earlier days of the Empire, post the Years of Blood. When Harbinger had decided his presence and daily oversight was no longer needed, he would tell Shakan to assume day to day running of the Empire. This of course went over without issue, until one of the final appearances Harbinger would have in public in those early days. Somehow, someway, a remaining rebel cell had obtained a small yet low yield mana-bomb. Despite it's low yield, it would surely kill any mortal in the radius without question, likely lead to the permanent deaths of hundreds of nearby Immortals, and obliterate the center of Setrak.   The terrorist was stopped as he tried to approach the Emperor and Shakan as they lead at the head of a group of decorated Immortals and Imperial military personnel, celebrating the anniversary of The Glorious Dawn. The terrorist would hurl the duffel bag at Harbinger and Shakan, both of them preoccupied with making nice with local nobles and their children. An Immortal by the name of Sieran saw the duffel and caught it midair, reversed its momentum and threw it exactly upwards with immense force. Flying into the air, hundreds of feet above and rising, he would dive upon The Emperor and Shakan, while crying for everyone to get down.   The ensuing explosion would flatten the roofs and destroy some buildings, showering them in electric blue mana-radiation and unfortunately still, killing thousands of civilians. The Immortals, Shakan, and Harbinger survived the attack, and Setrak as a whole was mostly undamaged, yet over 6,000 innocent civilians would lose their lives immediately and over time due to mana-radiation burn and sickness along with of course the initial blast.   The Bombing of Setrak would strike a newfound sense of vigilance into the Immortals, and galvanize Shakan to never be so lax and relaxed with his own, his men, and especially his lord's life ever again. Creating the Red Circle, Shakan would task them with the reinforcement, defense, and otherwise running of Setrak and The Immortals as a whole. From the Arce Inmortalium's innermost sanctums the Red Chamber lies in wait for its eight masters to take their seets to decide upon the direction of The Immortals.
