    Personal history

Kest Harin was, of course, not always a respected member of the Assembly and the Prime Order, but a young boy who grew up in the Imperial capital of Setrak. Born into a wealthy and well known family, the Harin family, who had specializes in Eterium mining for generations and had been some of the very first individuals to find and exploit it, they had grown extremely wealthy. Kest never wanted for anything. He had the best education, the greatest of training, the best doctors and the most friends he could ever ask for.   At the age of 13, Kest had surpassed all academic standards for admission into the Vrellman Assembly Academy, or the VAA. Not only that, but Kest had achieed a notedly higher score, one of the higest ever in his empathy and sympathy scoring. This nearly disqualified Kest from admission and almost sent him to re-education and his parents for analysis. It was intervention by one Immortal Grasor, Overseer of the Academy, a chief administrator of the Academy and one who reports directly to the Red Circle. Kest was to be allowed in. This demand from a somewhat divine source ceased all inquiry into his demeanor, and as such the young boy was allowed in.    At age 14, Kest Harin began his grueling and brutal journey through the Vrellman Assembly Academy. The trials and tribulations of which are detailed upon another document, but Harin endured brutal trial after torturous trial, classes of increasingly and rapidly expanding knowledge and theory. Application of battle tactics, the history of warfare, the enemies the empire faces and their myriad weakness. Types of demons, devils, gods and angels. Knowledge of other planes and their various names, purposes, and fates as of the Godless Aegis having gone up. Even knowledge of the world prior to the Empire. All was taught to the adolescents as they proceeded with their martial training and survival training. Many die, as is the process, but some live. Kest Harin lived, and he prospered. His empathy and sympathy that seemed out of the ordinary earned him extreme commendations in his debates, diplomatic negiotiation scenarios, and general thoughtfulness as to the impact of plans and proceedings upon those they would include. He also met his best friend, Jovic Balan here as well. Balan, a large and strong child with an even stronger will was an unyielding warrior and strategist, yet lacked the calm and thoughtful demeanor that Kest Harin had. Oddly, the two immediately hit it off, becoming close, their oil and water specialities actually forming a perfect blend.   At age 17, Harin was awarded the Silver Eye, a commendation medal typically given to full ranking members of the Assembly for talking down an eterium suicide bomber from a crazed rebel cult, convincing the man that the way to protest the Empire was to not hurt the innocents who had no control over its structure or formation, but to hurt the Empire where it mattered. A military target, a base, a patrol of troopers. The man was convinced, and when he lowered his guard, as the two stood face to face, Kest disarmed and disabled the bomb vest in a swift movement, placing the man under arrest. He was interrogated and his entire cult was killed to a man, and the terrorist was executed by Kest, as he was forced to do it by his instructors. He earned the Silver Eye, a medal given to someone who demonstrates supreme skill and service to the Assembly and the Empire. He also earned a Blood Mark for this, forged from the mans own life essence.    At age 19, similar to most of his fellow graduates, Kest Harin graduated from the Vrellman Assembly Academy, and stepped out into the world as an agent of the Assembly. Both he and his best friend Jovic Balan had achieved much in their early history, and were assigned together in their pair for the beginning of their Assembly careers.   Since then, Harin has been a part of many military operations, diplomatic intercedings, espionage operations, and many and more confidential operations, briefings, travels and things he cannot speak of.

    Education

Kest Harin received the greatest education from the most notable schools around the Empire capital of Setrak, and then was admitted to the Vrellman Assembly Academy where he was trained in the all encompassing educational programs of the Academy, which helped develop and augment Kest's impressive intelligence even further.

    Employment

Kest Harin did not work anywhere until he graduated from the Academy, at which point he dedicated his life to being an agent of the Assembly.

    Accomplishments & Achievements

Harin has received the Silver Eye three times, the Bronze Eye four times and the Gold Eye once, for single handidly debating a powerful devil in about the Treatise of Asmodeus, the tome written by their foul devil god-tyrant that outlines how a true king, a true tyrant rules. Debating the devil and holding its attention with his swift rebuttals and cutting jabs through the philosophy and ideals of the book, it set up the time needed for Jovic Balan and a group of holy executioners to arrive and deliver the devil's death.    Furthermore, he has overseen countless successful raids against heretics, demons, miscreants and so on, led repelling counter attacks against demonic incursions that occur at times, and many, many more.

    Failures & Embarrassments

Harin is the most embarrassed and troubled by his greatest failure as one of the premier negotionators in the Empire in the ranks of the Assembly, that being of the Habsral Massacre. A small town in Jinsa, Habsral was overtaken by a Wrath known as the Army of Light, a crazed, twisted form of worship to Bahamut that completely morphed his teachings, domains, and beliefs. Even for Harin, this gross misinterpretation was offensive.    He was sent to deal with negotiations and while he ultimately made progress, the allotted time set by the Wrath ran out, and it detonated a chain of linked Eterium bombs at key buildings and roads. The small town was absolutely devastated. Out of the 482 residents, only 32 survived, due to their residing in an underground bunker. The entire Wrath was destroyed, and Harin felt an immense shame and the throng of failure at his back. It was discovered that the detonators were on a kill switch and a timed clock, meaning that even if the Imperial forces had succeeded in their negotiations, this was probably what the Wrath would have wanted, and would have been able to take the entire Imperial military contingent with them to the hells.

    Mental Trauma

The Hasbral Massacre weighs heavily on Harin. Still to this day he keeps a scorched weeding band around his neck as a reminder of his failure, and a memento never forget the events that happened there that day. That band was a curse for so long, a horrid thing that weighed around his neck like a two ton deadweight. He drank, he cried, he could not sleep, remembering the dismembered, obliterated bodies, the splatered remains. The head of a child he had nearly stepped on when venturing into the now obliterated town. The blood, the burnt flesh, the screaming survivors who would die due to Eterium Burn. They never left, they only grew quieter at times.

    Intellectual Characteristics

Kest Harin is a unique individual when it comes to intellectual characteristics. He is most known intellectually amongst his Assembly co-agents and even amongst the Imperial citizenry as somewhat of an intellectual thinker and a writer. He has written many treatise on various subjects, such as titles Cruelty Among Equals, a document about what exactly correct hatred and cruelty among the populace is and how it should be exercised. The Controlled Hate, about the ways in which one can handle their hatred and not let it control them. His most controversial treatise though is To Hate, or Not to Hate? These treatise provide a unique insight into the mind of Harin and his interesting worldview.

    Morality & Philosophy

Harin could be called 'soft' by many of his more extreme Assembly members, yet others would see him as a novel idea. Perhaps due to his unique outlook on life, his innate, unknoweable characteristics that make him so, or any other inscrutable factors that make him who he is. Harin thinks first, and acts second. He is not above violence, but seems to rather dislike it where many and most Assembly agents revel in the chance to dispense the Emperor's Justice to his enemies.    His revolver, Forgiveness, is part of a dual set forged by a legendary forgemaster known as Byrak Thule in Jarentasar, the Holy Land. The sister to Forgiveness, Mercy, lies in the hands of Jovic Balan.   Harin's notably diplomatic attitude, his violence as a second course of action belief, and his general calmness have earned him for some Assembly agents a rather high opinion and someone that they wish to work with frequently. Others see him as a coward who should've never been admitted and was lucky to survive.    Harin believes in the philosophies of Harbinger, that hate is a potentially potent tool that can be utilized, that the gods, fiends, angels and fey influences from other planes are cancers upon the world. He is not innately discriminatory towards elves or fey descended creatures and even has no real issue with tieflings or aasimar, feeling more pity for them at their circumstances of birth in such a hateful world, and feeling sorry for them more than an active dislike.

    Personality Characteristics

    Motivation

Harin's motivations are not entirely understood at a deep psychological level but he states that as a whole, in this strange world he has found himself born into, after studying what the world used to be like, he decided that this was the place he could be to truly help someone in need. Be it saving them by dealing death, or saving them from death, it seems Harin has found his place as an agent of the Assembly, and sees it as noble work.

    Virtues & Personality perks

Harin is an understanding and thoughtful individual. He has been remarked as one of the most insightful and utterly relentless body language readers in the Assembly, capable of reading nearly anyone and discerning their true intent, but along with this is capable of pairing this with his speech capabilities to truly get inside someones head. If someone genuinely needs help, he will attempt to render it to the best of his ability, and he is known for his attempt to genuinely assist the common folk when he can make time for it.

    Social

    Contacts & Relations

Harin is affiliated with his families general mining and eterium extraction and refinement business, Harin Eterium Mining And Refinement, or HEMAR.   Furthermore, he is noted as being a resident member of the diplomatic relations coalition inside The Council, a subcomittee under the Diplomatic Prime Minister of the Empire. Recruited due to his specialized skillset, Harin helps resolve internal strife and power struggles, as the beastly Empire at times fights amongst itself amongst its innumerable and bloated internal parties.

    Family Ties

Harin has many remaining relatives. Closest to him are his mother, Amelia Harin and his father, the current reigning patriarch of the Harin dynasty, Garlav Harin. His younger brothers and sister, Jetal, Dedric, and Iris Harin all live, with one dead older sister, that being Nyura Harin, who passed of a tragic illness.

    Religious Views

Harin follows the Creed of Harbinger, and is a good acolyte of his god. He follows his tenets, and keeps the faith.

    Social Aptitude

Harin is supremely comfortable in social settings, so much so he was the 'talker' to Jovic Balan's 'puncher' personality type. He loves speaking, persuading, and interacting with people, achieving his goal through the convincing and altering of ones belief genuinely to that of his side. He is knowledgeable on all etiquette that is required and respected in the Empire. While confident, Harin is not an egotistical man, but knows his skills and capabilities are great and is not shy in them.

    Mannerisms

Harin displays an intense focus on who he is speaking with, staring them down, boring his eyes into their very soul and reading all aspects of them. Their hair, their darting eyes. The sweat forming on their brow. His lightning quick intellect, his Inquisitorial resources combined with this charisma and speech skills have lead to many attempted and perhaps somewhat proficient liars being utterly dismantled in moments with nothing more than facts and logic.

    Hobbies & Pets

Harin has two dogs and a cat. The dogs are Bellatorra, Talas, and the cat is Mud.

    Speech

Harin has a steady, firm, confident, yet still calming and soft tone of voice. He can be roused to anger and wrath, but it is notable rare and has only been seen a few times and fades quickly once he has had his outburt, belieing it to be not productive. He is gentle with those he cares about, yet can raise his voice to a firm and confident tone when taking on the role of a high ranking member of the Assembly.

    Wealth & Financial state

Rather impressive due to the salary, stipend, retirement benefits that befit a high ranking Inquisitor, along with his familie's immense fortune.
