The Tyrant's Grasp

The world rests under the jackboot. The Empire has reigned over the Material Plane for 1,000 years. The all-powerful, dominant god known as Harbinger wrestled the world under his control in a war of absolute domination known as the War of Consolidation. Now his empire rules with an iron fist. The Assembly, the Inquisitorial agency tasked with internal security, ruthlessely suppresses any dissenters, heretics, and any others who would go against the word of their god.    The Imperial Army and cooperative forces maintain the general peace and status quo of this ruthless government, and the church and its theocratic domination and single minded control of the populace maintains its iron grip as it always has.   The world is cast in darkness, a darkness from which the world has not seen light in a millenia. How long will it continue, how long will the world rest in the tyrant's grasp?
