Fairy godparents
Any kind of fairy can bond with a child and become its godparent, but instances of this are very rare, it is almost a legend. Sometimes, they do so to save it from a situation of grave danger, sometimes they transform them into changeling to exact revenge.
In both cases, the fairy stays by the child's side until adulthood, and usually leaves it afterwards. During this time, the fairy acts as a guardian and guide. It will try to push the child in a certain direction, often being respectful of others, and will sometimes grant its wishes.
