Changeling

Changelings are ferric creature who live amongst the common folk.   They are often born as normal people, and become changelings when a fairy infuses a baby with ferric power. This process gives the baby unique shapeshifting abilities.   A fairy creating a changeling this way often considers it as its own child. They stay by the changeling's side all their childhood, acting as a fairy godparent. Usually, fairies create changelings when they have been abused or hurt by another creature. They manipulate the child to take their revenge, and leave once it has been exacted.   Alternatively, the biological child of a ferric parent with another creature may naturally be born as a changeling. Those are usually educated to keep their powers hidden and encouraged to live normal lives.
