Goblins
Goblins are small gangly humanoids between 3-3 1/2 feet of height, they have skin ranging in color from an olive brown to a verdant green, smashed upturned noses, and large ears similar to those of Elves. Their limbs, particularly their arms, are long compared to their torso, and they often grow large amounts of body hair. Goblins are unusually strong for their size, having about the strength of the average adult human in a body less than half that size. Their small size and gangly form makes them very nimble as well.
Goblin Culture
Goblin's spent most of their history in Elthelas as slaves to Orcs and Hobgoblins. Within the slave huts, the goblins have invented their own voodoo-like religion, and invented forms of music and art that cannot be stolen away by their captors, such as elaborate tatoos and multi-part acapella harmonies. That reality changed suddenly with the end of the Orc War, and the occupation of large parts of Malinval under the Federated Alliance Territories. Slavery was outlawed in these areas, meaning many goblins suddenly found themselves independent of their masters. While they lacked the social supports necessary to gain real economic power, about half of Goblins at least knew the basics of freedom by the time the end came. Now in Materia, goblins find themselves mixed in amongst the other humanoid species on relatively equal footing for the first time ever. Only time will tell if they will successfully overcome the prejudices of their peers to make something of themselves in this new world.
