Herag

Herag are optimistic and dependable people, native to a planet full of megafauna that routinely drives them out of surface settlements to the underground. Despite this mean existence under threat of the dominant lifeforms of the planet, they hold a cheery disposition, people with a pension for preparation and minimalist habits.

Physical Description

Herag resemble humanoid beatles with a horn adorning the forward top of their heads. They aren't that tall but are stalky and as heavy as many medium-sized humanoids. They've a hard shell on their back that parts like many a beatle's shell to reveal a set of transperent, fully functional, wings.

Homeworld

The native world of the herag is known as Manju of the Roror system. Manju are not the dominant lifeforms of the planet, that status is given to several species of megafauna.

Society

Herag are relatively new the principles of civilization, having no way to repel the monsters that made such developments so hard on their homeworld. Though alien to them the idea has gained quick appeal to them and they attempt to embrace it wholeheartedly. There are some parts of it they don't wholly understand, first being the concepts of personal space, given that many of their dwelling places have been made underground in hollow caves it is not unusual to have many packed in the same space.

Relations

Herag form their strongest relations with other herag, though they do seem to enjoy the company of other species. They are quite curious as to why other races do as they do and will ask many questions to potentially learn something.

Alignment & Religion

Having very little in the way of permanent settlements on their homeworld, herag have a limited grasp of law in order. Their native good disposition makes the pseudo civilization they have on their homeworld a civil air without laws. These two qualities combined make the herag lean chaotic good.
The herag do not build temples as they are things that cannot be carried in the event they have to depart a current dwelling place. They do however pray, these prayers are generally soft chants meant to avert the attention of the local megafauna away from their homes.

Adventures

The concept of space travel is a novel thing to herag, who have spent more time hiding from the monsters of their homeworld than contemplating the potentials of technology. That being the case, when the stars were opened, several hundred years ago, they discovered the idea of planets without the threat of monsters tearing up their camps appealing and did all they could to leave their homeworld for safer and more civilized planets.

Vitals

There is little external difference between male and female herag. They are generally about the same size and stature,
