Vampire Clans

Old folklore in the Canary Islands spoke of blood-sucking witches, but it was actually the Anagi Clan of Vampires, who came to the island with Spanish explorers in the 1400's. They are one of the few clans in Europe to not be ruled by the Dragon clan at one point. While they are equally impressive at most Vampire abilities, they are best at using Hex magic.

They don't look too much different from other humans of the Iberian Peninsula. Some have lighter skin with lighter hair as appear as people from the furthest northern areas of Spain, many have slightly tanned skin and darker hair and appear as people from southern Spain. The Lord of the clan, commonly referred to as the Lord of Tenerife, and his family are more 'purer' vampires, and have paler skin and black hair. Everyone in the clan has Crimson eyes.

The Anagi are friendly to several Werewolf clans, especially the Wolfhelms. The reason for this is because the Goddess Leto is imprisoned under the Lord's Castle in Tenerife. Lukanthropis is the favored Canine God of the Wolfhelms, so they often gather blood for their rituals from here. Also, due to their friendliness towards Werewolves, most unfriendly Vampire Clans call the Anagi Canaries, not for the little birds, or for the island chain, but to literally call them 'dogs'.

Vampire Clan of Southern England. They weren't very notable throught history, other than they assisted the Hawthorns and the Vatican in Dracula's ultimate demise. Today, they are notable peacemakers and act as neutral parties in dealings between Vampire clans. They are prolific monster hunters and specialize in taking out vampire revenants. They are the only Vampire clan that works with both the Catholic Church and the Church of England to deal with these threats.

Their monster hunting speciality rises from a curse on their whole bloodline. Unlike other Vampire clans that have to perform powerful rituals to create a revenant, Bloodthorns automatically become revenants several days after they die. If not for the fact they cut off the heads of their dead and remove their hearts, they might have became one of the most powerful vampire clans in the world.

They have pale skin and brown hair, some have blonde and red hair. They are distinct from all other vampire clans in that they have Blue eyes. Like other vampires, their eyes always have a slight glow, and glow brighter when emotions run high.

A Ninja Clan of Vampire Ice Elementals in Northern Japan. While Vampirism is normally hereditary, some bloodlines like Elementals get in the way of that, preventing children from inheriting it from their parents. All Kori Nikusu are born as Ice Elementals.

Only those that undergo ninja training will be allowed to do the ritual to become vampires, which involves being bitten by Lord A'Domnus, a European Vampire that came to Japan and was captured in the 1500's. A'Domnus has been around since Roman times, and is one of the last living vampires that is able to convert non-vampires. He is somewhat of a prisoner of the Kori Nikusu, and lives only for as long as he is willing to convert the clan's Ice Elementals into new Vampires. A'Domnus is completely fine with this arrangement however, as he gets to drain the blood of several people each year, which are later reborn as vampires.

As Ice Elementals, Kori Nikusu are able to turn into mist and cast powerful ice magic. They have bluish skin and white hair. As Vampires they also have most of the usual vampire abilities like increased strength and agility, and are best at casting Psychic magic. Other than their mist form, they cannot shapeshift. As Vampires their skin become as pale as snow and their hair somehow becomes even more colorless.

The Dragon Clan is easily the most powerful group of vampires in the world, having full control over the country of Wallachia. A lot of history there played out a little differently that you might expect due to the Dragon's influence. Romania as a nation never existed and Eastern Europe was free of Soviet Influence during the 20th Century.

This Clan has their origins with the Vampire God Dracula. Legends say he found a lake of blood, the Blood of Typhoon, under Eastern Europe and drank it. He then ascended to Goodhood and gained the ability to turn into a dragon. He used these abilities to destroy Ottoman forces, then attempted to conquer Europe. He was stopped by other vampire Clans however.

Even without Dracula, his descendants are powerful, even by vampire standards, which allowed them to maintain quite a bit of power in Eastern Europe for centuries. Even today, they have one of the most powerful nations on Earth in terms of military strength, though their economy is lacking and somewhat feudalistic in structure.

Dragon Vampires have black or silver hair and their skin is generally pale. They always have glowing red eyes. Heirs to the Clan are almost always called Alucard in the hopes that they one day find the lake of blood and ascend to godhood themselves, and become Dracula.
