Undercommon

Undercommon is the language of the streets and “riff raffs” of society.

Undercommon was developed as a way for criminals to discuss their activities without alerting town guards, who were only fluent in Common.

In modern times, many guards are instructed on speaking, reading, and writing in Undercommon. Undercommon has also been developed as a written language so that correspondences between criminals would not be decipherable by anyone unfamiliar with the language.

Characters fluent in Common may roll a Linguistics check to attempt to read or understand Undercommon.

Worshippers of Omis are able to learn Undercommon as a starting language. Ratfolk may also take Undercommon as a starting language. Characters of any race can take Undercommon as an additional language upon creation.
