Isk
Isk is actually ISK (Iolar Systems Kindred), a monolithic organization with deep ties to the church of the Trinary Will. They nearly exclusively deal in the development and installation of cybernetic systems. Other smaller outfits exist from time to time but they are usually crushed and absorbed by the overwhelming resources and ubiquity of Isk fabricator shoppes. While Allart members and their works often fade into the background, Isk’s engineering is on display just about everywhere in Iolar society as even the lowliest often earn or save enough to acquire at least one sacred enhancement to their body. Due to their extensive knowledge of integrating synthetic and biological systems, Isk works closely with the Castrati and often by accident will develop medical procedures and leaps in physical care while pursuing the means to replace or improve them.
As very few can afford the intensive process of complete cybernetic reconstruction, Isk primarily looks at the piecemeal replacement of the body and purpose-built standards of augmentation. Most critically, they developed highly advanced cogitator systems and refined their microtechnology to a degree that allowed the implantation of noospheric access systems that didn’t burden the body with their size or power requirements. This breakthrough propelled Isk to its current lauded position and while its influence is so pervasive it almost gets ignored, there isn’t a single Iolar who doesn’t proudly display their latest augmentation, being sure to point out the Isk maker’s mark if possible. The current heads of Isk are a trio of strange allies who form the Steel Kindred: Olan Siso, Camar Landis-Nero, and Senior Castrat Wode.
