Kaimavia (KYE mave ee uh)

Honor for the Homeland

Kaimavia stands as a realm sculpted by the unyielding embrace of its cold and grassy tundra landscape, a land where the spirit of its people has been honed through generations of resilience, discipline, and a fierce sense of identity. This militaristic feudal kingdom has carved its existence amidst the harsh environment, shaped by the legacy of its history and its rivalry with the realm of Ayenin .
To the north is the land of Ursandur. The land of the “Ice Bears” which the Kaimavians have a generational long on and off again warring history over territory. Kaimavian legends often mention Kings and Heroes testing themselves by killing an Ursan warrior.
To the South is the vast The Desert of Ryn . The Kamavians superstitiously avoid the region saying there is "nothing but sand and death out there."
The tundra expanses of Kaimavia are both beautiful and unforgiving, with vast plains stretching out under the vast skies, and rolling hills giving way to rugged terrain. The land is dotted with hardy vegetation, adapted to the brutal winters and short growing seasons. Life here has evolved to endure the elements, from the tenacious flora to the hearty wildlife that has found its niche in this challenging ecosystem.
Chernobersk , the capital city of Kaimavia, sits upon the shores of the majestic Lake Versaya , serving as a strategic hub and the heart of the kingdom's culture and governance. The lake's tranquil waters contrast with the kingdom's militaristic nature, offering a serene backdrop to the city's hustle and bustle. The city's architecture is characterized by its domed towers and stout brutalist keeps, designed to withstand the harsh climate and symbolizing the fortitude of the Kaimavians. The temple of the twin moons is the jewel of the city and stands in sharp contrast with its ornate cathedral.
Kaimavia's people are a reflection of their environment: tough, resilient, and disciplined. A martial ethos is deeply ingrained in their society, with a strong focus on military prowess and a rigid feudal hierarchy. Warriors are celebrated, and martial training is an essential part of every citizen's upbringing. The kingdom's nobility and leadership are often comprised of distinguished military commanders, and the honor gained in battle is highly regarded.
The lingering resentment from The Old War  shapes Kaimavia's worldview. The memory of their defeat and the subsequent concessions fuel a burning desire for vengeance and retribution. This history of conflict has cast a shadow over their relationship with Ayenin, coloring interactions with mistrust and simmering tension.
In times of peace, Kaimavians tend to their flocks, cultivate hardy crops, and participate in a cultural tapestry woven from stories of valor, military strategy, and their people's enduring spirit. Despite their martial focus, they take pride in their traditions, music, and festivals that celebrate their rich heritage.
While the rivalry with Ayenin fuels a strong sense of national unity, it also hampers the potential for cooperation and diplomacy. The tundra kingdom's destiny is intertwined with its history of conflict, and its people navigate the fine balance between seeking vindication and embracing a brighter future, all while remaining unyielding against the challenges posed by their environment and the weight of their history.
Currently, Kaimavia is under the stewardship of the Governor. Heyden Wrosrak, a lesser chieftain raised up by Isus Jerrico  after the Old War. The governor has many troubles with the simmering tensions within the capital and his influence is waning.

"The chiefdoms of Kaimavia are ruled by nothing more but barbaric warlords all strutting like roosters and crowing about a non-existent past." - Governor Wrosrak
