Relthan

Relthan was born on the coasts of Inalir prior to the Inalir Revolution in the early Spring of 3639. He often played by the sea. After some years, a lone pirate came ashore to look for shelter for a night or two. Relthan slipped the pirate into his house without his parents knowing. By the end of the week, the pirate was ready to leave, but wanted Relthan to join him. Relthan refused as he was still considered too young to leave home. By the time he turned twenty-three, the Inalir Revolution had begun. Relthan went to the sea the night before he was to go into his first battle and met the same pirate once again. The pirate was a captain, and, seeing as his friend didn't want to go into this war, took Relthan to sea with his to learn to live as a pirate. During his time as a pirate, Relthan excelled at anything the captain gave him. Finally, as the war that had been going on between Reitsamni and (what was soon to be) Ehgtadaen came to an end, Relthan learned of the girl he loved, Quelra, returning from her four-year disappearance. He went and married her, having two kids, Ineilan and Kanira. When the two nations learned of this, they did not like the union and forced Relthan and Quelra to separate. Quelra once again disappeared to Ehgtadaen while Relthan brought their two children to an old weaver friend he had in his hometown. He then returned to the ship where he learned a mutiny was going on. With the captain now dead, Relthan fought with the leader of the mutiny until he took the man's eye. The people of the mutiny ran off along with their leader while Relthan became captain of those that had remained loyal to the former captain. A few years later, their ship got into a fight with the Inalir fleet which managed to take one of Relthan's legs. While injured, he slipped onto land near his hometown, looking to stay with his parents if they would take him. Instead, he found a brother and sister who lived in a bad home. Feeling bad for them, he took them back with him onto the ship. The boy eventually left again after their mother was found. Relthan learned the two had been his own children. His daughter, however, stayed with him and later he gave her her own ship and part of his crew to get her started on her own. Ineilan then disappeared northward while he sailed further south.

Like much of Inalir culture, Relthan grew up being taught by his parents. By the time he was ready to go into the revolution, he joined a pirate crew and trained under the captain and the crew to be a pirate.
