Nyrian Pika

Nyrian pika, Nyrian pika
Small and fluffy, oh so fine
Scurrying around on the grassy ground
Searching for seeds and leaves to dine

With arms that grasp and legs that leap
They run and jump with speed and grace
They live in colonies, all together
In a world of love and mutual place

So if you see a Nyrian pika
On the grassy plain or in the trees
Remember that they are our friends
And we should let them live in peace
— Eledhrim Children rhyme
The Nyrian pika is a small, rabbit-like rodent that is native to the grassy plains of Nyria. With four legs and two arms, it has a compact, round body with short, powerful legs, a fluffy tail, and large ears. Its arms are dexterous and able to grasp, allowing it to manipulate objects and defend itself if necessary. Its fur is a mixture of brown and gray, providing excellent camouflage in its grassy habitat.   The Nyrian pika feeds primarily on grasses and other low-lying plants, using its sharp incisors to crop the vegetation. It is a social animal, living in large colonies that work together to gather food and protect each other from predators.   The Nyrian pika is highly intelligent, with a level of sentience comparable to that of a proto-homonid. It is able to create and use very basic tools, such as sticks and rocks, to help it gather food and defend itself. For example, it may use a stick to dig up roots or a rock to crack open nuts. It is also highly social, living in large colonies that work together to gather food and protect each other from predators.   The Nyrian pika has a symbiotic relationship with the Dilippon, a six-limbed herbivorous creature that is native to the same grassy plains. The Dilippon uses its wings to glide over the grassy plains, while the Nyrian pika scurries around beneath it, searching for food. When the Dilippon lands, it often shares the food it has gathered with the Nyrian pika, which in turn helps to protect the Dilippon from predators by raising the alarm if danger approaches.   In terms of reproduction, Nyrian pikas give birth to a single offspring at a time, with females giving birth every year. The young are born with a coat of soft, downy fur and are able to walk and run within a few hours of being born. They remain with their mothers for several months before striking out on their own. Nyrian pikas can live for up to 15 years in the wild.   The Nyrian pika is a relatively long-lived species, with a lifespan of up to 15 years in the wild. It gives birth to a single offspring at a time, with females giving birth every year. The young are born with a coat of soft, downy fur and are able to walk and run within a few hours of being born. They remain with their mothers for several months before striking out on their own.   The Nyrian pika has a coat of soft, fluffy fur that might be sought after for use in clothing or other decorative items. In this case, it might be hunted for its fur rather than for its meat. The Nyrian pika's fur is highly prized for its softness and warmth, making it a valuable commodity on the market.
