Noctuin

The Gods' Prison

Noctuin, also known as the Dark Lands by those outside the Vi’Rok mountains, is a bowl shaped prison crafted by great magic in ages forgotten. Surrounded by rings of impassible obsidian mountains, sheer cliffs, and deserts of black sands, the only habitable location is the savanna in the center, clustered around deep chasms that hold the only ready supply of water. Any who have tried to leave are never heard from again, and the lack of rumor on the outside speaks to their failure… However, there have been cases of individuals crossing into this prison, though to leave again is unheard of. The wardens of the Vi’Rok mountains, the dreaded Rahnai, make sure of it.
 

Legend

It is believed that the creation of Noctuin was made after the creation of the world, to imprison the oldest and most power of demons, the Demon Lord Perazu. Perhaps he was the Ancient of demon kind, the first to be made in such horrid form and for such horrid means... or perhaps he was once mortal, and was the vilest of the sentiant races. It is unclear... but many believe this is where he first set foot upon the world, and the mountains were raised to entrap him and his minions.
