Ethral - Ghost silk
A Epiphyte plant which solely grows in Aluness and has mutated and adapted to the high mana density within the forest. After the appearance of Vloresk it became a crucial part of the forests ecosystem.
Most of the plants and animals living in here have entered a symbiotic relationship with this plant.
Appearance:
Grows in bundles of very thin, hair-like and strings. It's light emitting leaves grow in regular intervals. At the end of the stem is a larger petal.
While it grows on the ground it's roots are very shallow and it very easily gets tangled with everything coming in contact with it. So this plant is often seen wrapped around or hanging from trees, other plants and animals.
While rooted it uses the flow of mana particles like wind to grow upright towards the sky, wavering constantly even without wind.
Properties:
It's thin stem is sticky, enhancing it's ability to latch onto other lifeforms. Despite it's small diameter it's upper sections are quite durable and flexible.
When attached to a creature or plant it slowly starts building up it's roots again, piercing the skin of it's host and penetrating into the body. However this does not cause discomfort nor harm. The opposite, the plant starts absorbing the mana particles from the inner organs and thus keeping the mana at a survivable level for the host. The extracted mana is then converted into the light Ethral emits and turned into void energy.
