The Fall of Mokar

Disaster / Destruction

0A.C.

The ending of the Mokari civilization at the hands of their envious neighbors and power hungry foes. Ending with the scattering of all races by the creation of the Tarrasque by the god of destruction, Tarram.

"Then did the sky fall upon us all, as the child of Tarram let loose the gates of Pandemonium upon the mortal plane. That which we called Tarrasque tore through our bones and homes and set us adrift to the four winds." - Collapse 11:21, The Human Histories.
The Mokari kingdom was a prosperous one where mankind dwelt alongside the beings of the Feywilds and the Stone-Kin before the betrayal of Lolth and the enslavement by the illithids. Here the humans of Mokar lived in an age of heroes and myths, where even a human could ascend to godhood such as one of their queens had done before. However, their plenty came with the envy of their neighbors, such as the Primal elves who could not believe a human had ascended above them to godhood, or the dwarves who fumed at the grand creations mankind were able to construct in their cities. What's more, the illithids had just made contact with the Material Plane and had begun to make war with the races across the world.   Mokar sought the strength of their allies but were turned away or worse were attack in tandem. Magic was used against them and Fay folk charmed the leadership to cause chaos throughout Mokar. As Mokar crumbled around them, the people cried out to any god who would listen to free Mokar from its torment, to bring vengeance onto their foes and the god that replied was Tarram, Chief God of the Tempest, Father of Calamity. In tandem with their wish he created a beast that ended Mokar's suffering and brought swift retribution to its neighbors who abandoned it. The Tarrasque destroyed Mokar and its land, turning the once fertile land into a desert, breaking through even the vale into the Feywilds and scattering the Primal elves along with the races on the Material Plane. It was this scattering that ultimately led to the betrayal of Lolth and the creation of the Dark Seldarine and the loss of the elves' ephemeral forms. The Tarrasque also sent the Stone-Kin deeper underground where some were enslaved by the illithids as well as some humans and elves that had fled with them.   With Mokar gone and the races sent to the four corners of Lusamiel, the Age of Heroes ended and gave rise to the Age of Dispersion where the races as are known now began to take shape. It was also during this time that the illithids grew to be at their most powerful and subsequently fell into ruin by the age's end.
