The Great Heroes

During the Demonic Incursion three millennia ago, several heroes rose up independent of each other across the world to fight the demonic and infernal hordes. Though the exact numbers vary, a few are always included in their legends. Such as: Hatvr, the Beloved of Annellas, Danella Num; Chosen of Ioun, Dalos the Lone, and The Nameless Nightshade.     The Great Heroes eventually all joined together to fight back in a single united force, bringing together every race and nation to stave off their extinction at the hands of the Demon Lords Demogorgon, Graz'zt, and Ezereem. The death of the latter ended the Demon Incursion and saved the mortal realm, bringing order and peace back to a world that had been nearly swept away.   Their mission complete, the Heroes went their separate ways, some founded kingdoms that last to this day, some went on to continue going on adventures until their deaths, and some sadly met a cruel fate at the hands of the countless evils they angered in their adventures. All but one's death is recorded by myth or record, and that would be The Nameless Nightshade, though the inherent mystery of this hero leaves much uncertainty as to what happened to them.   The following is a list of the renowned Great Heroes:

Achenira, Hands of Reorx

"I may not be strong, but I am smart. And with that I can fight, I will make Reorx proud to call me one of his chosen." - Achenira
Born in the Danshean city of Naressia, the halfling Achenira was born frail and weaker than others. However, she had the gift of creation, creating contraptions that even gnomes were impressed by and being able to understand constructs that others couldn't comprehend. Achenira was only seven when the Demonic Incursion began, and fifteen when she first began fighting back.   Naressia had been under devil "protection" for five years at that point, and Achenira sought a way to fight that only she could. Since she was physically weak, she sought out something she could use to fight back. Eventually she discovered a lone, inactive, and rundown Warforged in the foothills of the nearby Talesia Mountains. Fixing it up and giving it the suitable name "Iron", Achenira soon learned from the Warforged that she was in fact a Reorblood, an individually gifted by the craftsman god himself with an innate mastery of construction. There had not been a Reorblood for almost two millennia, it was those last Reorbloods that made the Warforged and gave them their mission of protecting the nation of Ansilvia on the other side of the continent.   Achenira also notices that despite doing what she could, Iron still was not at his full capacity, this leads the two on an adventure into the Ashaseara Jungle on the other side of the mountains. Here they meet Sarezian and Delreez and eventually free Naressia from infernal control, and go on to protect Danshea for years until they were sought out by The Nameless Nightshade. They then united Danshea with the rest of the world in a last ditch effort to save the world. In the process, Achenira is grievously wounded, but survives thanks to Iron's protection.   Achenira helped revitalize Danshea after the Demonic Incursion and would later pass away in her sleep at a ripe old age, she had no children, but was survived by two nephews and her closest companion, Iron.

Anelise, Druid of Calamity

"Never before had I seen such beauty. Such grace, all covered in blood and surrounded by the corpses of fallen devils. It was love at first sight." - Dalos The Lone
Among the druids of Hitram, no ancestor is revered the same as the sun elf Anelise, who was raised among the druids of the now lost Highlight Grotto. When devils destroyed the grotto and turned it into a pit to create their horrific machines of war, permanently tainting the land. In vengeance the druids that remained wiped out the devils in the Bandoline Crevice, it was then that she met the heroes of Hitram. Joining with them, she would show the true terrible power of nature. As a druid of The Plague she channeled the natural ferocity of the world to dispel fiends by the hundreds of thousands.   In the Battle of Mount Anrath she summoned a hurricane that covered the northern half of the continent, and during the Battle of Hell's March she caused the awakening and eruption of a previously extinct volcano to slay the dracolich Hazzalein. Her power was respected by her allies and feared by her foes, but only her beloved Dalos ever truly knew the woman beneath the fury. She was a woman of simple pleasures, who loved the stillness of night and the gentle breeze over the grasslands of Hazor. She would eventually leave the secret hideaways of nature for the halls of the newly formed Iatum, becoming its first queen alongside her husband Dalos.   She mourned the greatest upon the death of her beloved, retiring from the throne afterwards and living in quiet solitude among the Avariels. Her final words were supposedly, "When the last of us die, the second bell will toll." This meant that when the last Great Hero died, then the second Divine Conflict would engulf the world, it has been two millennia since then and all the heroes' deaths have come to pass, presumably. So some doubt the veracity of this prophecy, but some believe that it is true and believe one hero may yet live in some form or another. And when they cease, calamity will burn the mortal realm away.

Dalos The Lone

"What's there to say? I'm just a ranger. Nothin' more." - Dalos The Lone's self-description from his journal.
Born to unknown parent, but presumably a wood Elvish parent, Dalos was found by the side of the road by a passing army on the continent of Hazor. Quickly adopted into the ranks of the army by quartermaster, Dalos' early life was one of militaristic discipline, raised from a young age surrounded by bloodshed and loss. Dalos, as he later recorded in his journal, was not fond of anyone in the army baring the man who raised him, he had grown used to losing people he knew and so never got attached to any of the soldiers.   This would prove to be fruitless, as the army he was conscripted into was a rebel army that had fought for years against an oppressive tyrant. One fateful day the rebellion suffered a loss they could not recover from and were destroyed. Most were executed including his foster father, Dalos was alone again. From there Dalos records that he traveled along the south lands of Hazor, seeing all he could, never staying for long. Stories of the lone half elf warrior spread and he became a well-known figure, this was where gained the name "Dalos The Lone" for his willing solitude. And it would have continued on this way had the Demonic Incursion never happened, Dalos was quick to fight back wherever he could but knew he couldn't do so alone anymore.   It was he who first sought out allies and gathered the Great Heroes in Hazor, not knowing that similar heroes existed on the continent of Hitram. These heroes fought across the continent, and were there to witness the battle of the Archdevil Bel and the Demon Lord Demogorgon. Dalos recorded that "it was as though the Nine Hells had descended on the world. Bel's power against Demogorgon's madness, we were powerless compared to them, and for a time I lost hope of ever winning the war. That was when I met Nightshade."   The Nameless Nightshade arrived from Hitram, telling stories of the heroes there that helped slay the devil Bael and that they sought allies in this global threat.

Danella Num, Chosen of Ioun

"I sought to learn all that could be. I paid for that greed with my family and home. Never did I imagine that one of my rare selfless deeds would lead to my death." - Danella Num's last words.
Danella Num was a gnome born with remarkable curiosity and a hunger for knowledge. Born in the territory that would eventually be called the Thawed Coast, Danella was the seventh daughter of a gnomish scholar who had chosen to live among and research the native people of the Hanees Steppes and their local religion of The Six. It was here, at the age of thirty-seven, that Danella heard the call of Ioun, goddess of knowledge in her dedicated temple in the area.   Ioun told her to seek out the knowledge to save the world from disaster, and she immediately set out to the capital of the Ruschez Empire which at the time ruled all of Hitram. It was while she was in Koranlus that the Demonic Incursion began and she soon began the fight against the demonic hordes. Over the next decade she would lead various armies of Ruschez to victory against demons and devils alike. Most scholars point to her wisdom and leadership to the reason Ruschez survived the Demonic Incursion while later allying with Hatvr, Anelise, The Nameless Nightshade, Nettlehorn, and Rune to clear the continent of demons and devils.   However, it was while she was in Hazor that her most notable feat came to pass. After coming upon a tribe of enslaved half-ogres who were in service to the Archdevil Mammon, Danella took pity upon them and schemed to free them. After a dangerous trade where Danella offered her own heart to Mammon in exchange for their freedom, Mammon was soon forced back into the Nine Hells before he could collect upon their spoken agreement. Without a written contract the Archdevil's powers were more limited, and Danella had successfully freed the tribe. The tribe would go on to found the nation Gorogam under Danella's tenets and her hand-picked Supreme Chief.   After all was said and done Danella went into a life of research into magical objects and ways to channel one's soul in an effort to save her own life from Mammon's inevitable retrieval of her own heart. First she modified her body so that she would continue living without it but she would fall into a deep sleep if it was removed, then she created several prototype Gnome's Hearts in hopes of replacing her original should it be lost. However, most were too weak to work and the one she was said to have perfected was lost to the hands of Mammon's cultists who proceeded to offer her heart as offering to Mammon.   Danella fell into an slumber and was laid to rest under the Temple of Ioun in the city of Kaneburrough, only a stone's throw from where she had first heard Ioun's voice.

Delreez, The Scaled Shaman

"May the dragon's blood bind us all together under the ever full skies." - Delreez upon the establishment of Saevan.
Delreez lived in a quiet village hidden in the Ashaseara Jungle, his people largely avoiding contact with the outside world. However, when the Demonic Incursion struck his people were scattered to the winds and his home and family destroyed under the foot of countless demons. Delreez fled the jungle and traveled the Telisa Mountains until he encountered Iron and Achenira as they crossed them. Deciding that they could assist him he led them through the jungles to the Yuan-Ti city where the demons used as a base of operations against the devils on the other side of the mountain.   In the process of uniting the scattered Lizardfolk tribes and discovering the strange Yuan-Ti Sarezian, they defeated the demons in the jungle and turned their new alliance's attention to Dell Mirthan, here they acquired aid of the triumvirate and led this new alliance to Naressia and freed it from devil occupation. They proceeded to defeat demons and devils all across Danshea and eventually Turell until they were contacted by The Nameless Nightshade and encouraged to bring Ansilvia into this alliance as well. During this time Delreez met the dragon Selushirna and her charge, Selushirna Haeirna and later the kobold chieftain Kogum. Added together with Sarezian and his brood-brother Zoneer they united the reptilian races to fight against the demons and devils. Afterwards, Delreez, Selushirna, Haeirna, Kogum, and Zoneer united in Hazor to create a nation for the often hated reptilian races.   With Haeirna as its first queen and Delreez as her advisor, the Kingdom of Saevan was established on Hazor with the blessing and protection of the dragons. Delreez eventually died of old age and passed his mission onto his descendants who even now serve as shamans to the Kingdom of Saevan.

Dorulla Stormrider, Dwarven Destroyer

"She betrayed us, turned her back on our great people. She never understood me or what I dreamt for. My dear daughter, you must die." - The Beast King
Dorulla, born to the might eternal Beast King of Hiell was to be his heir and champion. She lived a life of combat training and under constant scrutiny from her many siblings who yearned for her position. She slew near a dozen of her own kin who came for her head, such was the brutal life in Hiell during the Age of Conquest. After being forced to slay her closest brother by her father's command, Dorulla left Firstguard, the capital of Hiell to travel the continent.   She was traveling through the northern half of Turell when the Demonic Incursion began and Highguard became overrun and corrupted by the presence of demons and aberrant magic. Dorulla kept hidden this time by traveling through the underground roads, during this time she met Xaphene and Ketlum who were on a mission to help the surface. Dorulla was understandably confounded by the duo but agreed to help them.   They started in the former Highguard, cleansing it of the corruption found there before moving on to help the rest of Turell. Her father had vanished and left his people to die and suffer alone, so Dorulla brought the people together once more to fight against the Incursion. After the cleansing she had a vision from Rohen, god of storms and honor. Though her people were made from her ancestors hunting and devouring the Lythari, Rohen's chosen, she was offered the chance to serve him in place of her people and was gifted the magical reins called the Wings of Rohen, which allowed her to call and ride the thundering horses of Rohen.   Eventually she would join the other Great Heroes to end the Incursion once and for all. Many wanted her to ascend the throne of Hiell, however before she could she was ousted from power by the return of the Beast King and she was wounded in battle. She was taken by her followers and whisked away to Hitram where she would go on to found the dwarven clan Stormrider in modern day Guldranmar alongside her husband Golgru, the leader of a group of separatist Duergar.   She lived in exile for the rest of her days and her legendary weapon, the Wings of Rohen, were said to have been lost after her death.

Evara Skyborn, Emissary of The Gods

"We made her to be the savior of us all. But she was so much more to them." - Katus, God of Justice and Contracts
Evara Skyborn was found in an orphanage in the former Kingdom of Gentia on the continent of Hazor and grew up there until the age of eight. Then she was adopted by the childless lord of the local region and raised to be his heir, unbeknownst to her she was being groomed to become the savior of Hazor. At age sixteen her adoptive father set her out on a trip with her instructor to learn how to survive in the wilderness, when they returned they found the estate and town they lived in destroyed by the sudden appearance of the Demonic Incursion.   Evara was taken by her teacher away from there and hidden safely in the Duono Forest until he was twenty six when she set out to reclaim her homeland. It was then that she met Dalos the Lone and Selushirna Haeirna traveling Hazor to do the same thing. She joined them and helped fight against the fiendish hordes, in the process of fighting a balor she unlocked her Aasimar powers and erupted in brilliant light.   She would later discover she was the child of the god of Justice Katus and a mortal woman who ran the orphanage she grew up in. When the threat of the demons began to grow the gods decided to train Evara to become their champion. So they led a servant of theirs to adopt Evara and train her, however the Demonic Incursion struck without warning. After learning this Evara took up the sword of her father, Blind Justice and delivered brutal punishment to those who tormented Hazor. She would also meet with the Mokari during the final battle and discover that she had great respect for their people.   When the war was over she set about rebuilding her homeland into the new Magocracy of Caedrum as a place to honor the magically gifted who had been scorned in the years before the Incursion. She established the Mokari currency as the standard of the nation and had elections to name the Magisters who represent the people. Evara would later die of old age, reportedly disappearing in a flash of light at the moment of her death. She had no living relatives save her divine father.

Hatvr, Beloved by Annellas

"Power unbridled. It was like the power of all life flowed from his body as he faced the lord of undeath. Truly he was the most beloved of Annellas." - Dalos the Lone's account of the duel between Hatvr and Orcus.
Hatvr was born in a quiet nameless village to forgotten parents of a forgotten lineage. He lived a fairly unremarkable life except that he was a very gentle giant of a man who cared for all peoples. When the Demonic Incursion struck and demons attack his home Hatvr fought back with everything he had, as he did he felt the power of Life flow into him to protect others. After the battle he would fall unconscious and meet Annellas, goddess of Life. She would declare him her chosen champion and become a constant source of support for him in the days to come.   Soon after this Hatvr would meet the Nameless Nightshade who would start him on his mission to save the continent on Hitram. The two found more allies across the land and eventually slew the Archdevil Bael and encountered the Demon Lord Orcus' lieutenants. Upon discovering the existence of Orcus, Hatvr was consumed with rage at the prospect of this beings contempt for the sanctity of life. Hatvr's target from here on out was the lord of undeath.   During the final campaign against the Demonic Incursion, Hatvr would meet Orcus in one-on-one combat and kill him in the mortal plane. However, Hatvr knew Orcus was not dead and after the war would descend into the Abyss to hunt him down. Few records of all that happened exist, but according to most extra planar scholars Hatvr cut a bloody path through the Abyss before finding Orcus and fighting him once more. However, Hatvr had become consumed with a desire to kill Orcus, to kill any demon, and in his bloodlust he accidentally killed a human who had been trapped by Orcus and prepared for just that moment.   Overwhelmed with regret Hatvr was easily defeated by Orcus and his soul was trapped in the Abyss, Hatvr's head would become the centerpiece of Orcus' Wand and it is said Annellas wept for the loss of her beloved. In honor of his loss, his hometown erected a statue of him and named their home Anneel after the goddess he dared to love.

Iron Titan

"Here he slumbers. Here he waits. Here he watches until our final days." - Song of the Iron Titan.
The Warforged that would come to be called Iron Titan was presumably built at the same time as the rest of its kin. The Warforged was born with a male voice and so would be regularly referred to as he, according to him he was given the mission of finding more Reorbloods and set out across the world. He saw every corner of Lusamiel, however when he found none he returned to Danshea to continue his search. He gave up eventually and fell into the Metal Slumber from which no Warforged had ever returned.   When he was awakened by Achenira he was astonished to discover that she had been able to rouse him from what should have been irreversible. He would conclude, correctly, that Achenira was a Reorblood and swear to protect her. Iron was not at full capacity at this point but thanks to Achenira taking him to Ansilvia he would be brought back to his full potential. He was also given an extension that made him larger and bulkier granting him the title Iron Titan. He would become the shield of Achenira and help annihilate hundreds of fiends in the war.   Ultimately when Achenira was nearly slain in the final battle, Iron Titan protected her from the majority of the blow by taking it himself. He was repaired and served Achenira until the end of her days, after her death Iron Titan traveled back to Ansilvia protecting people all along the way until he found a nameless village at the foot of the Baneer Mountains. Here he would sit on a cliff overlooking the village and enter the Metal Slumber once more.   His final words were supposedly, "My friends. I may not die, but may my spirit go to you in my dreams." Since then he was slumbered over the village of Titan's Rest and has refused to wake even to the hands of other Reorbloods.

It Who Sees Doom

"I was the first to feel it coming before they could see it. I felt it in my bones and in my eyes I saw the eyes of the demons. All that hate consumed our world while I did nothing. I will never forgive myself for my inaction." - It Who Sees Doom.
Warmynx had but one hero to lead and save them during the Demonic Incursion and that was the Tabaxi sorcerer It Who Sees Doom. She was born with the power of foresight and as such was raised to lead her tribe, when she had a vision of the Demonic Incursion she feared what it meant and ignored it. However when the demons first began pouring out upon Lusamiel she was ready to unite Warmynx against them. She united the five clans and set to work ridding the land of demons and eventually devils. By the twelfth year of the Incursion she had stabilized Warmynx and set out to the nearby Kvitheim to do the same.   Though she was initially unwelcome she was able to convince the Frost Dwarves to accept the assistance of Warmynx in fending off the fiends. Finally, she met with the Nameless Nightshade and led her and her people to Hazor for the final battle. It Who Sees Doom was surprised to be accepted so easily into the Great Heroes she felt at home for a while.   When the war was over she invited the satyr Nettlehorn to return to Warmynx with her. He refused for a time before eventually relenting and travelling to Warmynx to help her establish the Alliance in Warmynx. After years of work and establishing the clans, It Who Sees Doom asked Nettlehorn to lead her to the Feywild for one more adventure; the two entered the Feywilds and disappeared forever.

Ketlum Hurgoll, Orcish Savior

"When our gods turned their backs on us we returned the favor. They wanted us to be strong so we outgrew them. This is to be our legacy. We are the Red Hand and we will live on for our people." - Ketlum Hurgoll
The Orcs before the Demonic Incursion were nomadic and violent due to the influence of their gods and their control over them. They were scattered across the world with no real home to speak of but congregated largely in the mountains of Turell or Hitram. It was in Turell, among the orcish tribes there came to be the barbarian of legendary strength Kruggell. Kruggell was raised as all orcs were to believe strength was all and to use that strength for himself.     In accordance to this he raided the dwarven lands and killed many at the behest of the orcish pantheon, never understanding there could be another way. Until the day he fell into a deep ravine and was only saved by the intervention of the Drow. They found him and enslaved him, taking him to the Underdark to live the rest of his life in service of the Drow.   It was among them that he met Xaphene, the eldest daughter of a Drow matriarch, they met by pure chance when a Duergar attack threw the city he was trapped in into chaos. He ran for his life only to be cornered by Duergar who sought to enslave him as well, he fought back with everything he had until he couldn't stand. However, there were too many and he believed he would die there, that was when Xaphene saved him and used the chaos to flee the Drow with Kruggell.   Over time the two were forced to work together to survive as Xaphene taught Kruggell about Eilistraee and another way beyond the cruelty either had been raised under. The two traveled the deep roads until they met Dorulla and learned of the Demonic Incursion above ground. The three joined forces to fight back above ground and during this time Kruggell took a new name, Ketlum Hurgoll, throwing his past far behind him.   Ketlum returned to his tribe and found them on the brink of extinction, abandoned by their gods. Ketlum offered them a new way, the way of the Red Hand. Uniting them and other tribes together these orcs were near the last orcs left on Lusamiel after the Demonic Incursion and led the assault against the demons in the final battle. Where the demon lord Ezereem was slain by Ketlum's own hands they created the nation of Garhune for the orcs and drow who fled the evils of their past. These drow were now Dusk elves and the orcs became known as Garhunian orcs with Ketlum and Xaphene as their first king and queen. To this day their bloodline rules Garhune as benevolent and respected rulers.

Nettlehorn, Wild Cleric

"He never talked about himself much, but I could tell that he may have cared more than any human would have." - Dalos The Lone on Nettlehorn.
Nettlehorn's past and future are both mysteries, but what is known is that this cleric of Satos appeared in Hitram alongside Anelise with the purpose of healing all who had been injured. His power would come in handy against the fiends that destroyed all in sight, and he himself would banish more devils and demons than any other known clerics in history. Nettlehorn would lead the fey in the final battle against the demons and devils.   After the war he helped the reconstruction effort before joining It Who Sees Doom in Warmynx to continue his work. Afterwards he and she left for the Feywilds and since then their fate has been unknown. Some travelers through the Feywilds have said they have met two kind travelers who aid them in traversing the peculiar landscape, but that is all conjecture.

Rune, Bard of Warping

"When she walked those lost halls, for the first time I saw Rune weep. So much knowledge that was lost, wiped away. That was also the first time I saw true hatred in her eyes for the demons that had destroyed her home. I will never forget the song that came from her lips then, of hatred and sorrow, a true bard's requiem." - Recorded by the hero Nettlehorn.
Rune was a tiefling born in the great bardic metropolis of Bardelmyr, a city of great knowledge and wonder. She learned at the College of Worlds where every bardic tradition, even those no longer known, were taught. Rune would eventually leave Bardelmyr and meet the heroes of Hitram, she was not trusted at first but her joyful disposition made her welcome in no time at all.   Rune helped the heroes but when many of the heroes went to Hazor to continue the greater fight, Rune, along with Nettlehorn and Danella, stayed for a time in Hitram to return to Bardelmyr and discover the secret to slaying a Demon Lord. What they found instead was the charred skeleton of the once great city, destroyed by the Demon Lord Graz'zt. This sight changed Rune, she became a more serious person and when she scoured the ruins of her home she did not need to find the secret song. She made it.   The song she sang at that moment, known now as the Warping Song, connected with the souls of every bard on Lusamiel and told them of what had happened to the city of bards. This galvanized the vast majority and Rune led an army of bards to Mount Anrath to defeat Graz'zt personally. Nettlehorn and Danella had their own personal armies backing her, Nettlehorn's army of fey and Danella's Ruschezian forces. Once more Rune sang the Warping Song and altered Graz'zt's very being, cursing him so he may never step foot in the Material Plane again.   After this victory the three joined the army on Hazor, later than most, but they arrived with plenty of assistance. Rune would sing the Warping Song two more times, once to expel thousands of demons from the Material Plane and the last time near her death. Rune's life after the final battle is a quiet one, she traveled to the land near Bardelmyr and created a new city, the city of Wondrum. Here she would give the rest of her life to teaching all she knew about the bardic traditions of Bardelmyr.   Near the end of her life she sang the Warping Song once more and vanished from the face of Lusamiel, no one knows what became of her.

Sarezian, The One Good Snake

"I don't like snakes." - Sarezian upon hearing his moniker.
Sarezian was different from most Yuan-Ti, he felt twinges of emotions that he was never supposed to feel. In a moment of confusion he saved a human from being killed by killing a fellow Yuan-Ti, afterwards he fled from his own people. While he fled he met Delreez, Iron, and Achenira who almost killed him on sight, but he convinced them to spare him. He then led them through the Yuan-Ti territory and helped them defat his kin and their demonic masters. In the process he found his brood-brother, Zoneer, who was convince to aid the heroes by rallying any Yuan-Ti that were like Sarezian even slightly.   This small but effective army of Yuan-Ti would be the first addition to the Greater Resistance of Danshea and eventually would be a part of the final battle against the demons and devils. Before the final battle, as the Great Heroes fought on Hazor, Sarezian would nearly die and make contact with The Source. He would then choose to reject his dark heritage and be reborn. He would change into something else, the first of his kind on all of history, a Reborn Yuan-Ti. He was able to feel freely and see the world for what it truly was. Using this newborn hope, Sarezian would fight and die for the salvation of the world. As he fell to the blade of Ezereem he prayed to The Source to save them and The Source answered by cutting off Ezereem's connection to the Abyss, weakening him and making him mortal.   Sarezian was buried in the royal crypt of Saevan after the war, where his body rests to this day. Many Yuan-Ti have tried to copy him and become reborn and come very close, but few have been fully restored like him.

Selushirna Haeirna, Chosen of Dragons

"Queen of the Dragon-kin, born in flames and ice, may your eternal rest be ever pleasant and may we continue on your legacy forever onward." - Eulogy of Selushirna Haeirna
Raised among a kobold tribe, the silver dragon born that would come to be known as Selushirna Haeirna was raised to think and act like a kobold. She was clever and raided several villages for supplies alongside her tribe. One day however, she chose the wrong village, one that was guarded by a silver dragon in human form. This dragon was Selushirna, an adult silver dragon that would nearly kill Haeirna in that moment. Selushirna was curious about the dragonborn among kobolds, however, and took her in. Healing her and teaching her about the dragonkin such as dragonborn and kobolds.     Haeirna had no tribe or semblance of her people and wanted to know more, so Selushirna took the wayward dragonborn and made her a part of her own clan. From that day forward she was called Selushirna Haeirna, Haeirna also learned something from the kobold chieftain, Kogum, who had raised her. She learned the basics of hemomancy and started on her path to become a full-fledged bloodhunter.   Haeirna was in her mid-thirties when the Demonic Incursion began, from her mountain home she led the kobolds and with Selushirna's assistance she met the other heroes of Hazor. She became Dalos' lieutenant and she spent a short time in Redvale, the ancient dragon lands and rallied an army of dragons against the fiends. In the final battle she rode Selushirna into battle and was able to compel a balor to kill its fellow demons with advanced hemomancy.   After the war, Haeirna was chosen by a council of reptilian races to rule the country of Saevan as its first queen. Throughout her life Haeirna was an odd queen, choosing to fight on the front lines whenever possible, but she was loved by her people for it. Though in modern day all known descendants of hers are dead, her line ruled Saevan for three millennia and made it a proud and prosperous kingdom.

The Nameless Nightshade

"Never assume anything, my friend." - The Nightshade's last known words to Hatvr.
Among the heroes there is known more enigmatic than the assassin known as The Nameless Nightshade. Appearing first on Hitram to inspire Hatvr to pick up his blade in defense of the continent and the people of the world, he spent the majority of his time dashing from one place to the next and slaying fiends left and right. He was the one who reached out to the other continents for assistance and he was one of the most powerful of the Great Heroes.   The Nightshade united the Great Heroes through his charisma and talent, never giving too much away about himself yet becoming the glue for the entire company. Though he did not kill and archdevils or demon lords, that we know of, the Nightshade still deserves his place among the Great Heroes. After the war he vanished without a trace, but sightings of a similar individual have shown up throughout history, causing many to speculate whether the Nightshade is actually a title passed down from one man to another.

Xaphene, Traitor to The Dark

"I left behind the drow once, I will not refuse those who wish to follow suit." Xaphene, Queen of Garhune.
Xaphene was born as the first daughter of a drow matriarch and was brought up to believe herself superior to all other save the spider queen Lolth. However, when she met the goddess Eilistraee during a midnight raid, she began to change her views on things. She began to feel sorrow at the enslavement of other races and tried to assist them without being caught.     It was not until she met Kruggell, later Ketlum, and she saw his raw determination in the face of despair. When she had her chance, she took it, fleeing the drow with Ketlum. Afterwards the two fought tooth and nail together to survive in the Underdark alone, since even the Deep Folk attacked them on sight. They could find no friends in the drow or orcs and eventually stayed away from all peoples, until the day they met Dorulla and joined her in her quest.   Xaphene was a powerful sorcerer and aided her comrades throughout their journey in Turell and beyond, but when the time came for them to create an army to fight the fiends, she reached out to the drow for assistance. But the matriarchs refused to help her and instead she found assistance in other drow who were inspired by her to stand with Eilistraee. Xaphene led this army of newly reborn dusk elves under Eilistraee's power alongside the Red Hand of Ketlum to defeat Ezereem.   When all was said and done, Xaphene became the queen of the newly founded Garhune and helped turn the capital city of Merinthese into a wonder of architecture and art. The years after Ketlum's death saw Xaphene redouble her efforts towards the infrastructure of Garhune before her passing and when she did she was laid next to Ketlum in the Red Crypt of the capital. Their descendants continue their legacy in Garhune even today.
