Dragons with various colours of scales exist, and the personality and tendencies of each time vary greatly. These colours can be divided into two groups: the Chromatic, and the Metallic dragons.

Chromatic Dragons
Chromatic Dragons are generally considered the evil dragon's, each of them motivated by a strong sense of greed and egotism. Do lack any form of respect for any lifeform but themselves.Metallic Dragons
Metallic Dragons, on the other hand, are noble and motived by curiosity. Wandering the world often disguised as humans or beasts as they are master shapeshifters.Basic Information
Anatomy
Dragons are made of an arrangement of four legs armed with sharp claws, great wings, and tail. All covered in hard scales.
Genetics and Reproduction
Once every few hundreds of years, dragon's seek out a mate and lay eggs. It takes about 3 years before such an egg hatches into a new dragon. The Mother dragon guards these egg with the ferocity that only a mother can.
Growth Rate & Stages
After hatching, they start out as Wyrmlings. Young and bestial, with no sense of speech. After about 6 years they have evolved into a Young dragon, form this point on they become capable of speech and generally intelligent with significant size. At the age of 100, a youngling has grown enough to leave its mothers nest in search of a lair of its own. Were as some dragons migrate to different lairs over time they usually just pick a place they like and use it for the rest of their life. After crossing the 800 years mark, they become even larger and truly a force to be reconned with, such dragons are called Ancient dragons.
Biological Cycle
Every few hundred years, an male adult or ancient leaves his nest in search of a mate. They spend a few days mating, before the male returns to his lair, with a low chance of ever meeting the same female or his children again.
Civilization and Culture
History
The Dragons once ruled most of the known world during the Age of Dragons. Famous dragon nations include The Empire of Novgorod, The Frost Legion, The Metallic Alliance of Federations and several others. But this was not to last, for the Plague of Aburannt, March of Titans and various wars between the different nations dealt a heavy blow against their supremacy. To the extend to in most lands dragons have faded to nothing but myths and legends of an era long past.
