Session 30 - Interregnum in Luzhinsk

The aging Prince draws the pebble. The crowd starts gossiping about how the Prince's brother wants to take the throne or how it's the son who will take the throne.   We walk around the market. Hrefna is looking for a magical way to speak in long distances. Vasilii helps her find a stall with wondrous items while looking for a dealer in agate himself. Hrefna also buys some rubies and gold temple locks, because she needs a dowry for any new prospective grooms.   Vasili finds some more magic amulets and brings Vadim and Hrefna over. Vadim buys 12 potions of healing.   Vladimir makes some jewelry including Hrefna's temple locks and one of Vasilii's boxrings.   The party spends another week in the city. Vladimir and Vadim heal up and reflect on their lives. Vadim learns his wolverine is acting odd and learns she is pregnant. Hrefna can now become a bird and Vladimir learns how to send mental messages to Rurik, putting the question of his memory of us to rest.   While discussing this and how to send to Rurik, the young prince Yaropolk comes to us. He questions us about Rurik and setting us up as ambassadors to Rurik because of our connection to him. Hrefna suggests a possible marriage alliance, claiming to be Rurik's relative.   The party discusses what to do and how to use the situation. There is discussion about using this to bring peace between the True Confession and the Volkhvy.   Vladimir forms the following Sending:   "Prince Yaropolk sends a message asking for your assistance. He is interested in your friend Hrefna. I can hear your reply of 25 words."   Rurirk's response tells us he does not remember us. We talk about being honest with the Prince of Luzhinsk.. Vladimir sends another sending to clarify who he is and his intentions.   Vasilii doles out 25 rubles from Rurik's stash and keeps the remaining 100 to use to purchase Combs of Sending from the magic stall at the market..   Vasilii approaches Chvalibog - the head Volkhv and warns him about Boiana's woven prophecy. They speak about a few things like the Gaalite-Volkv war. Vasiliii is given a veiled warning about siding with people who side with Gaalites.   Vladimir takes the name Stanislav Novak and sends to Rurik two more times:   "I am Stanislav Novák, a monk training at Luzhinsk. Reach me by travel, or magic. Twice daily I speak; Gaal’s power must not be tested." Sending to Rurik:   "The Volkhvy will sacrifice the old prince to their gods, one day from now. Yaropolk says his volkhv uncle will keep the amber from you."   Vadim goes to the small Gaalite Church in a foreigners' quarter and speaks with the priest. He tells the priest about the young Prince asking us for help. Vladimir, under the name Stanislav, suggests issuing a challenge to their wise men as a Gaalite Priest could not lose to a volkhv.   Vladimir and Vadim then talk about possibly assassinating the Prince's uncle.
