Luzhinsk
A city of around 8,000 lying on the Virta River on the northwestern edge of the Land of Nor'. The city's wealth is primarily derived from its strategic position as an amber transshipment center from the Western Sea to all other Norik cities and the lands to the south. It also deals in wax, furs, honey and slaves.
The town's defenses - at least for its central citadel, are earthen ramparts and 20-foot high walls. The river also defends the central district from the south.
The city contains sizeable Gaalite, Bahite and Fogarma communities, though the majority still adhere to the Old Faith. The temple in the citadel has shrine to most of the major gods, though the town's tutelary deity is Dazhbog.
The city is ruled by the aging prince, Rostislav. Shockingly, a lottery has just selected him as the sacrifice to Mokosh, to spare the city the wrath of the nechist', whom the goddess has just released from their annual winter slumber.
