Essence Entanglement Disruption
Scholars of the rarified field of psychological metamagical theory in the institutions of high weavers of the Gold Coast have in recent years debated the merits of a hypothesis known as Essence Entanglement Disruption, which proposes that the collapse of powerful magical weaves can be induced by the presence of a web of very weak traces of magic emitted from beings capable of casting. Specialists in counter casting have disputed the theory on the basis of a lack of practical evidence to support the underlying principle, as all known methods of imminent counter casting rely on expenditure or enforcement of an equivalently scaled weave, and if the theory was true it would already impact and prevent every major weave. This was until a question and answer phase of a visiting emeritus lecturer was brough to a silent standstill by a query from an undergradate student.
Was it the metapsychological weave emitted from the humani slaves or dwarves that induced a collapse of the ancient ogre archmages weaves and systems of spellcasting when it became dense enough?A variety of scholarly debates have since torn through the topic and a range of related ramifications. Were the simplified systems of magic taught to the humani by their high caste masters contributing to the disruptive properties of Essence Entanglement Disruption? Was it ever possible for a dwarf or human to use the ogres weaves? If the ogres overcame their fear of crossing large bodies of water and settled distant enough from the dwarves or humans could they regain their ability to weave mighty spells capable of altering reality, and eradicate the source of the Essence Entanglement Disruption? Less hysterical responses have queried why the ogres haven't already carried out some reversal to their downfall if such a thing were considered possible. Or why the elves who were believed to have originally used the same system of magic as their creators, and have had opportunities to sail away from or isolate themselves from such a source not taken advantage its absence. They certainly have not lacked the will to destroy races considered lesser than they.
