Yeosa'Unathi

Yeosa'Unathi are a subspecies of Unathi adapted to the shallow seas of the Yeosa'rashan, the inland tropical sea of Moghes. They have a thinner, muscular build, and are typically lanky, best adapted for the shallow seas between their native islands. They are the evolutionary descendants of the Sundar'Unathi, being one of the more recent Unathi species to develop.   Yeosa are most notable for being a largely aquatic type of Unathi, capable of holding their breath for around half an hour through the use of gills, being too big to use them exclusively. Their bodies are adapted to swimming on the surface and underwater diving, well suited to either hunting prey, or travelling underwater to avoid the common tropical monsoons above. As such, they are typically lithe in build, and come in a variety of heights, averaging from between 5ft and 8ft. What they lack in 'Unathi Mass', they tend to make-up for in dexterity, inherited from their Sundar ancestors and taken to new levels under the sea. In terms of scales, the Yeosa come in a variety of colours, from light and vibrant patterns to dark and protective camouflage. Some Yeosa are born with horns or frills, which can either be a help or a hindrance, depending on size and shape. They are less capable on land, and would historically only travel to the shores to cook food and establish settlements, rarely venturing deeper onto their islands. Like most Unathi, they can eat raw fish and meat, but vastly prefer their meals cooked and spiced. The Yeosa largely began colonising their islands in search of new spices and ingredients, and are considered to be the culinary experts of the Unathi.   During the Moghsian climate change, the Yeosa began to spread across the planet, colonising recently submerged land and expanding their control of the various shallow bays of Moghes. Since the discovery of interstellar travel, the Yeosa are no longer constrained to Moghes. They are now a common sight across Unathi space, having colonised many wet and aquatic worlds in the name of the Vasakkad Coalition. They are present in the systems of Hssandan, Hkurkan, and Terzen.
