Purpose / Function

Originally a stone settlement for the first Ronchemtal travelers in the North. Callaird was built as a stronghold - not against monsters or pirates, but of weather.
Originally, Callaird was a flatlands that budded the sea. Ripe with cold-resistant foliage, and the occasional roaming herd of Elk like creatures (called Broadthorn Elk).

Alterations

Osmium Control

Under Osmiums Control, the Vampire Lord has dillegently put his undead hordes to work. Building up the once simple defenses of the fort into a fortified castle.
Thick palisaded walls now surround a larger area, the original fort has been turned into a manor fit for a king.
A large stretch of land had been flattened and paved for a pad for the airships to park safely.
A large arcane tower had been erected just outside the manor, near its tip a powerful device that creates a barrier a hundred meters around itself - encasing most of the keep, and structure in a secure bubble. Several new buildings have been erected as well, a granary, a forge, a bat tower, and storage warehouses.
The Warehouses are used to store the stolen metal fragments from across the island, which are being melted down to craft the crude weapons the undead horde are using in their war effort.
