Draconics
Basic Information
Anatomy
Draconics look very similar to "regular" humans, but have several additional features not found in most. Draconics possess scales that similar to fish scales in appearance and function. Additionally, they possess horns that are close in appearance to a reindeer's, and tails that usually measure about 60% of the length of the rest of their body in length. Draconics lack the body hair a human has, but possess a mane covering the back of their head and neck, with a trail of hair running down their back to the tip of their tail.
Growth Rate & Stages
Draconics grow and age much slower than regular humans, leading to them having a much longer lifespan. The oldest recorded draconic was 295 years old at the time of his death in 2531. However, due to most draconics in the modern day possessing some quantity of regular human genetics, this longevity is heavily reduced to approach the lifespan of a regular human.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Draconics are only found in Longshan, which is where they originated. Though it has not been rare in history for draconics to move to places far away from Longshan, the draconic genetics have only been widespread enough in Longshan to be carried over to the current generation intact.
Civilization and Culture
History
Draconics are not naturally evolved, but are instead an anomalous phenomenon. However, due to their nature as a variation of the Homo species, they have gradually been integrated to the point that they have been lost their status as an anomaly.
The earliest evidence of draconics goes back to year 26. According to myths, they were created of Nüwa, who is thought to have been the host of the Hypostasis of Clay, and were molded in the image of herself and her brother, Fuxi. Their longevity is suspected to be an effect imposed on them by the Hypostasis of Stories, whose host was likely Fuxi.
Draconics have historically been thought highly of in Longshan and have usually been in the high tiers of society, due to the prevalence of dragons in Long culture, but in modern times, draconics don't recieve this treatment any longer, though they are still respected, especially by older people.
