Wards

A metaphysical collection of intertwined SoulEnergy, most commonly used by Spell Casters as a defensive or utility ability, but they can also be imparted with offensive and harmful effects. Regardless they are formed to fulfill a specific task whether it be protective or aggressive by collecting and manipulating SoulEnergy into patterns that subsequently can create numerous effects in, around, inside, or when coming into contact with them.
The patterns created that form the Wards grow in complexity and volatility the bigger and more precise they must be as WardWeaving them can take time the more complicated their effect is meant to be and likewise unraveling one can be just as dangerous, especially if it's another's SoulEnergy that's made up the Ward.

Access & Availability
The knowledge on how to Weave basic ones is usually easy to come by and well known to even the most novice of Casters, but more complex and complicated ones that do more are often made to each Weaver's own style and specification and can be hard to teach, making good WardWeavers and those who can teach the craft very valuable and wanted.
Complexity
Basic Wards don't require lots of SoulEnergy, nor greater knowledge to make, but they are not so difficult to unravel. The limit on how complex a Ward can be isn't exactly known as there is definitely a threshold where they start to become unstable and volatile, but that can be mitigated by a talented or experienced Weaver.
Discovery
Discovered by the Monolith rather early on during the Common Burning Era, and quickly the knowledge was distributed across Lislow as they were the best and foremost protection against creatures and Talthorians alike at the time.
