Joint Police and PSIA Report

Officer Takahashi Yamaki, accompanied by Acting Chief Satou Kazuo of the PSIA Paranormal Division, investigated after the disappearance of the building's owner, █████████, and the death of a PISA officer.  

Outside

What remains is the husk of a multi-story, cast-concrete laboratory, but it looks more like a bomb tore through the place. Most windows are broken. Every door is ripped open or blown off its hinges. One lay 15 meters from the building.  

What the hell happened here?

  Half-finished graffiti mars the walls. Spray paint cans litter the ground, like they were abandoned before the gang marks could be finished.   It's encased in a faint glow. The field doesn't appear to keep anything out, so it may be a magic elimination field, possibly a containment field, too. Will confer with the area's Guardian from the League.      

Inside

Upon entering, both officers noted that the hairs on the back of their necks stood on end, and they heard steps and howling in the hall. Light bends oddly, and shadows are distorted. The outside walls had large divots from something massive hitting them. Piles of ash are scattered all over the floors. Satou theorized they're likely the remnants of a human who was possessed by an oni. He's seen that before.   Satou's magic detection ofuda did not work inside the building. It fizzled out and turned to dust. Before going farther inside, Satou and Takahashi ensured they were able to leave the building. They could, but every magic item the pair had was gone when they exited.   Entering the building once more, they investigated each room. Some contained tables with straps. Others held science equipment—smashed test tubes and beakers, needles and syringes, and charred papers strewn about the desk and floor.   Yuurei and other specters were identified in several rooms. No doubt their human lives ended here. The paranormal beings were not approached since there was no ofuda protection available.   Satou obtained satellite data for the area for the months the lab was believed to be in operation and the current week. But the building doesn't register on the images. Satou believes the building may be tucked in a pocket of the Spirit Realm. Further investigation is required after the magic dousing field can be altered to allow protective and banishing ofuda. Then the yuurei may be approached and questioned.   The crime scene tape, along with the resident yuurei and anti-magic field, should be enough to keep out any trespassers until the place can be demolished and purified.
