Twighlight Echoes

When bards come together in Levis they form a band - and the Twighlight Echoes is the current leading 4 piece band in Levis.

Roles

Niccodus Whistlethorn is lead singer and Torbolene or Fuzzlyre player depending on the genre of music to be played.   Darius Whistlethorn backing singer and Verim Water Bag player. Darius is also the lyrics writer for the group.   Seville Luxdrinker percussionist.   Morticia-Anne Salitkeeper second harmony and pipes/ (clarinet equivilent).   Each of the band members are also skilled in their traditional political and spywork roles.

Composition

Structure

The band itself has three auxiliary crew. A driver, anevent coordinator and some hired muscle and security. When playing at larger venues they hire additional combat mages for the duration of the activity, but use the venue's staff for the rest.

Tactics

Usually the Twilight Echoes perform their network before they get into town officially, using the cover of the local town bards to do what they are traded for.

Logistics

Upkeep

The band also has a handler/gig manager who travels ahead of the band, sending details back through discrete hired couriers in coded messages.    This ensures the ability to arrange anonymity and also the ability to get work done unimpeded.

History

Darius and Niccodus formed as a minstrel duo in Attum-Mess at the ages of 14 and 16 respectedly. Specialising in heavier sounding music mixed with haunting vocals, the duo travelled Solaris, not able to pick up much spywork but building their reputation for solid music.   It was their song "Holding the good ones back." that propelled them to fame, and modern Twighlight will play a modified version towards the end of a show. But this encouraged a handler to meet with them, and was where they were encouraged to find bards with weaker singing voices but strong network to join them. They found their first team member in Seville who was playing in Whencis thr bard getting way too much recognition as the only local bard.   Continuing as a trio for another few years, they were joined by Morticia-Anne by royal decree -for an illegal wetwork job near the Infinity Gates . The job was a success but the 4 discovered the liked the dynamic of working together and the sounds they could produce that they stayed a team.   Since then they have released such songs as "Morticia's lament" where Morticia-anne sings a haunting chorus and "I don't love you." which has quickly become popular around the Year's Turning festival.

Historical loyalties

The Twighlight Echoes have traditionally been loyal to the royal family, taking jobs from other movers and shakers as long as it does not destabilise the royal line. With the current prince being more decadent, this is more under strain than ever.

I really like the idea of a band of bards that are secretly also spies (and maybe assassins, with that reference to wetwork??). I wish I could hear some of their music.

A Bard mission or a bard playing hommage to your world would you want?

That's entirely up to you - only if you come up with a great idea that fits your world. :)

What a great idea to have a band! I love it, this is very inspiring Asmo! Maybe I should make a band for Kena'an :)
