The Fire Reborn

I never expected the demons to work out local politics this fast - and with such raucous music.
Every culture to ever exist has its own music, real and imaginary. It is no different for the demons of Infernus. That Infernus music is about inspiration and motivation while Levis music is about subterfuge and politics, does put a kink in the shared interests between the demons and the bushland realm. Enter Nashby of the Forge and Three-toed-Embers. It was not long after Balmuth had taken demons to the ocean, and Xylos had settled with his wives, that Nashby and Embers felt the call of the road and started their pilgrimage around Levis.   It is said around demon circles that the bard Deluna Vesperine, wife of Xylos hear them playing a rhythm on a scrap of old hide and challenged them to come back with the greatest song of all the land, or to not come back at all. Watering holes around Levis instead claim they were struck with the wander bug and it was Pentos that the demons heard, and a call to action was grown in their hearts. Either way - Levis would never be the same.
Nashby, a squat imp with a thick black mostache, beard and sideburns and thick curly hair, the beard stained with white. His body is littered with small grinning mouthes that open into a rictus smile whenever the imp plays an instrument with passion. Three-toed-Embers is a taller, pot belly and bald lust demon, with three toes on each foot, and a thick mat of red chest hair, endless black eyes, and a long forked tongue. His skin is cracked in oranges and browns - and all this is strange given Lust demons can change their body at will.
They traded a beat and a ditty for their first instrument, the Verim Water Bag. It was also here where they heard stories about the stories of bards in Whencis so off they went in search of that story.   Along the way they learnt the story of the bards of Levis and their roles within society, and even some of the spycraft that the Levis bards have been masters in for millenium - and they took that on with the brutal honesty of demonkind. The Fire Reborn kept learning Levis instruments while also beginning to craft things that reminded them of home. Their songs were both a mix of the stories of the demons mixed with callout songs for the targets they were induced to take out.   Critics would call their eliminations messy and obvious, the demons only saved by the unspoken rules around the bardic culture, but their almost metal/rock sound and their deep storytelling brought them a large audience, and their tributes to the cultures of both the demons and their hosts in Levis had them the pick of any community gathering or bardic contract. Their destiny before them, they continued to play up until their untimely end at the hand of Dellidae or so the legends go.

I love this formation. I love that demons created rocked and took the stories of Levis and made them their own. I also love that you have Tenacious D song. This was entertaining to read then listen to. Is Tenacious D singing about the song that Nashby and Embers created to impress Deluna Vesperine?

I want the future to be the integration of the demons without them or the Levisfolk losing their cultures and personalities.

This is fun. I love the idea of demon rock bards.
