Rainbow Scarp

Not all of the Forbidden Forest region is thick tree cover, as the morning mist clears, you find yourself stepping into a rocky clearing, and then you look up, sheer tan and black marbled walls cuving up up up towards the sky in the idea of two waves meeting, and above all that a canopy of trees and grass-trees wave down at you with pitying sympathy.   You step deeper into the clearing and a fine silt sand crunches beneath your feet and you see the clusters of plants dotting this almost-cave. And in the centre is a pool of stagnant water, buzzing with micro insects, barely visible dragonflies and flies (midgies if you will). You take a step, hearing the rustle of something in the silt and your eyes adjust to the snake a good distance off, watching you, careful as it pushes out a fat blue tongue, revealing long poisonous fangs. The shadows pass over the clearing as you watch it, and it goes practically invisible apart from that now glowing blue tongue and lazy blue eyes that blink at you, feigning disinterest. But then the cool air gets too much for the snake and it burrows back beneath the silt.   The air still hits with that sticky warm as you move, and as you blink lazily, the ground seems to shift and drop and somehow the still water has disappeared to our peripheral vision as you hear the rumbling of the greater-grey sakoot-tail and you wisely move ever forwards. The rocks stretch ever upwards, but you can imagine them gone with the clusters of dried scrub and grass tree that fill your vision and the tendrils of desaturated green moss that twists the silt like a pathway between the clusters.   Your sky-walker vibrates in your hand and you are forced to ignore it as you progress ever deeper, and soon you are wishing you walked around this place as it keeps changing on you. You catch yourself looking into the static water and you see long bleeched bones settled beneath the surface and you know there is no way out that you will find.

Blue -tongued sand snake.

Highly venomous, this snaked is a biter, preying on the medium sized birds of canyons and sandy plains. It's tongue is phosphorscent and so is the venom in its fangs - we do not know the purpose of the latter. It's scales are textured and colored to match the surrounding sand layer of the area, and it is local to the sands of the Forbidden Forest.
Type
Gorge / Rift

The greater grey sakoot-tail.

The large crop beneath their jaw often rumbles at the sight of a threat, and their keening laugh is the next step in this ancient creature's warning. This ailback is a solitary creature, with massive digging claws and a thick tiling of scutes upon its back. With a dark green complexion mixed with stripes of bioluminescent scaling, this insectivore loves to hunt with its extremely long, sticky and flexible tongue the ant nests around the forests and rocky crags of eastern Levis. It can store almost a kilo of live ants suspended in a mucus that keeps them alive for up to a week - the crop almost constantly squirming in the meantime.
