Pilgrims of Hardship
As the world progresses, as light phases to the comforts of shadows, and the dry landscape gives way to lush forests, there is a section of the people of Levis who see this and say nay!
Reject the modern and find the struggle among the stars and the broken places - bring your community back to the conflict, as nature demands of us. Nature is not kind, nor loving, nor safe, your community should be your only saving grace - not the trappings of the modern.
Before Macus and the demons were even a twinkle in the eyes of those in Levis, there was a growing sentiment within Levis that the progress of science and magic were taking its people away from the struggle between nature and the conscious form. That being one with nature was intrinsically linked with hardship - and the natural cycle of drought to flood. That towns and cities had dampened the fear of fire, or the catch of stone. That magic had separated the fist from making contact with the flesh of those one would defend against.
While the Pilgrims were not everywhere, the journey their text made was, and throughout time its story would slide past the minds of so many of the denizens of Levis - one not quite knowing if the text held back a rising tide or a swelling stream. When the Pilgrims went through the portal - intent on finding a land where struggle would be returned to them, a third copy of the text was made, taking the journey with them into the iron winds and the tough lands.Document Structure

The document is divided into three parts - the Chords: ideas that the pilgrims hold to; the Tendons: the behaviours and rituals that a Pilgrim should follow; the Bones: a list of alterations and observations that describe the living texts, helping the Pilgrims evolve in their reactions to an ever modernising world.
Historical Details
Background
This manifesto was created in two copies - something rare for the time period, and something even rarer for something neither fiction nor hard fact. The first went to the quiet meetings, passed around the dark spaces so that the knowledge of struggle could be brought to more hearts and minds. The second came to the library out of Attum-Mess so that mages and those in study could be exposed to the truth and so that the truth could be referenced when goals were made to escape.
