His Majesty Ryo Duskleaf (a.k.a. Riyo Mudlark)
By tradition the royal bloodline of Solaris is patriachal. Except it often isn't.
Born Princess Riyo Mudlark, eldest of her siblings and a balak foliad, she grew up during the quiet years knowing her father was always poor of health. With a bone sickness that left him gaunt, Princess Riyo was acting regent as soon as she was able, supported by her royal court; and a thick drink made from kefbalga seeds.
Standing at 6'5", the princess grew up with a strong basis in both trade and combat magic; learning from the best of the Academy and from the trademasters of Gracetown and Avani.
When her father passed, she did not relinquish her hold on the throne, becoming the persona Ryo Duskleaf and being crowned as such in public. Ryo's rule was just and fair, and uneventful as rules go, going by Riyo in private. Her love of roasted Kefbalga continued and the gardens around the royal court seemed to swell with their planting during King Riyo's reign. One of the king's greatest achievements was the creation of the Arch to Greatness, a massive symbolic gate leading the to Amphitheatre of Knowledge. The reader might find themselves reminded of a Torii gate in dimensions and aura, except the gate is two massive interwoven trees, a fused pair of branches running between the trees in an arch.
