Scrap from the mines funnel up to the artificers and wizards of the Librari; expeditions deeper or out of the city for fragments are bankrolled by these mages; Librarians constitute the economic and political nerve center of the city. Beyond New Recern, the Librari pressures for all academic pursuits and expeditions to be operated under their supervision. This has put them in direct tension with The Antiquary and The Connoisseurs.
