Independence for the Geprost Kingdom

The rise of the Geprost Kingdom came about in the wake of the Khiones Incursion, which was stopped at great cost to the kingdoms east of the Khiones Mountains. Kratiros had been weakened by the Oreinos Incursion, a decade and a half earlier, and there was still lingering ill-feeling from provincial nobles over the fact that their armies had been commandeered to protect the Kruos and Upper Brocheros Provinces during that conflict, which had in turn left those same armies depeleted and less able to defend against the subsequent incursion from the north.
