Yah Thalas
Yah Thalas is the only known major Arachne city. For almost five thousand years the city has existed in isolation under the Westedge mountains.
Around three thousand years ago the city came under major attack by a large goblinoid uprising from deeper in the underdark. The city held and survived but suffered massive damage. Due to this the Arachne people used the captured goblinoid survivors to help rebuild their city. This extended to after the city being rebuilt however and the goblinoids of the city have become a stable source of slave labor for the Arachne people of Yah Thalas.
This nature of servitude has become normalized through the indoctrination that the Arachne people need to lead these "barbarians" to a better future, although not all agree with this point of view...

As an isolated city-state Yah Thalas produces all of its own materials, including farming, livestock, mining, smithing, masonry etc. They lack a diversity of food types due to their isolated nature but have an abundance of metals due to their extensive mines.

History
Yah Thalas was founded five thousand years ago when the Arachne people, threatened with extinction by rampaging gnoll hordes fled underground. There they existed wandering in the darkness until they came across a diefic entity known to them as "Giamae, the Mother Earth" this entity led them to their current caverns and guided them to being able to care for themselves before this entity disappeared.
