Xa Triangle Families
The Xa Triangle Families are an economic alliance representing all of the ruling Families in the 4 worlds comprising the Xa Triangle, loosely resembling oriental feudal kingdoms. It only has recently become known that the Xa Triangle Consortium does not speak for all of the Xa Triangle Families (though it is the strongest voice amongst them).
The Families are highly merchantile in nature - and often mercenary in their loyalties. Currency is king and Persuasion happens at the ends of the negotiating tables. Until the appearance of the Federacy less than a century ago, travel between the cluster's worlds was accomplished via Solar Sailing.
While maintaining the guise of legitimate merchants, they are "known" to peddle in all types of goods and services and are very willing to traffic in things which are illegal in the Fedracy.
Functionally, they are T2, though they are showing incredible advances, in no small part thanks to their various acquisitions - both legal and illegal - of Federacy goods. They are also known to harbor vessels which are quite willing to perform piratical activities.
Xa Triangle space is listed in the FAT Guide (Federacy Advisory Travel) with Strong Advisory to Avoid if Possible.
