Rowen Ashe

Apprentice Rowen Ashe (a.k.a. Accident (replaced for Ashe))

Rowen was raised in the orphanages of Legalia before he was a servant of a mage of the Queen. Before long he rose above his station and was taken on as an apprentice scribe and linguist; proving to be well studied and having a diplomatic mind despite his relative youth. Rowen was trained to fence at first in self defence but then as a sport when he developed a talent for it.   Rowen was staying in the closest town to the dread Kings mountain where his master was holding open a continuous portal when the dread King and the golden hand razed it to the ground. Rowen was slain by one of the generals only to be saved in his death throes by a blue robed figure. When he awoke he was among piled corpses in a mass grave. The corpses were all empty bags with the blood drained out of them whilst rowen was alive and felt almost alien whilst whispers invasively haunted him.

I Killed a Turtle

I'm scared. I don't know what I'm becoming. We found the chalice in the nearby caves and all I can focus on is that mission even now while I search for a sense of empathy for what I did.   We reached the lakebed and searched for a while before tracking the chalice to a cave, while exploring the cave I spotted a small cavern with a large rock and a chest in it. I activated my aura and... well... it gave me confidence to move, maybe arrogance in hindsight, not the usual angry, cold point of vengeance I feel. The rock was breathing but I felt deaf to the risk of it, the moment I entered a creature emerged from the rock to attack and I fought back, I endangered Kit and Talon as they entered the fray to help me while Jaquee and Ashe left us to do their mission... Kit still can't bring himself to forgive Jaquee for the way she just left.   ...It was a baby, a dragon turtle sure, but still a baby and I killed it... not just that, I made my friends kill it with me.   The chest was worth it though and so was the scavenged parts of the creature and I know that deep down, I also know that I should feel far worse for what happened but truthfully I know I only felt regret for endangering Kit and Talon.   That's what scares me, I have never been a lover of animals and I've always done what I've had to do but I can't help but feel the whispers, the vengeance and my own blood is driving me towards dark pragmatism. All I want is the utter destruction of the Dread King, even if it leads me to become a bigger monster than he ever was. I'm just scared of how far I know I'm willing to go.   I feel like I've managed to calm Jaquee and Kit just a little. They're both right and they're both wrong and I can't help but feel that's my fault... Just as I feel everyone is calming Ashe is starting to get tetchy and look around the group. I feel like she wants to say something, she doesn't often get this kind of look in her eyes.

Fletch visited

Fletch finally found the tomb and we were there waiting for him.   Its been a year, we've travelled and started to finally build a worthwhile settlement here in Yabott with other people and friends here with us. We have Blacksmifhs the green ravens and others in there and its almost like a home or a sanctuary of sorts.   But finally we can start taking some more aggressive steps towards the land and the Dread King.   Fletch has brought information to us. The chalice that he used against the dread King is nearby but lost. It may be able to save the black hand and give us allies there and maybe even stand against the Dread King... All we need to do is find it a day's travel away and bring it back safely... It's a little close to those forts that belong to the black hand but if we're quick it shouldn't be a problem.   So I'm preparing now and we can move off in a few hours.

Mount Rillow and The Golden Hand

Perhaps I shouldn't give these entries such exotic and, well, dramatic names... Gwynithar says it makes me sound like I'm a practising Bard rather than a practising attendant and assistant.   Well, irregardless, it seems to amuse him at the very least for now so he doesn't seem too frustrated by me and I keep going.   Mount Rillow is gorgeous, I know I should be paying attention to my duties but the space is fantastic, Lord Eodwynne's estate is fantastic, picturesque and gorgeous. Though I have not been able to see the lord himself as he is unwell I have been assured he is a larger than life individual and a talented swordsman (Gwynithar thinks I would do well to observe him if I get the chance as my defensive maneuvers need work). The mountains themselves loom in the distance and, I know this was the site of a disaster recently, but the nature in the area is so wild and untamed that I can't help but love it... I've not been given much choice though.   Today has been all about pomp and presentation, I had to iron and prepare my rapier and mage attendant uniform four times before Gwynithar was satisfied with it. After that I've been committed to book work and study as well as brushing up on my Gnomish for one of the esteemed guests, in case of meeting them that is and I was assured my Infernal and Abyssal would be of use for communicating with one of the Golden Hand. Alas, Gwynithar then spent the rest of the day working on maintaining the portal with the other mages while the golden hand came through, even I can tell they hummed with magic and power... deeply intimidating to the last of them. I'm rather glad I could stay in Gwynithar's tent to study or explore as the generals 'Asserted themselves'.   It's all very serious though Gwynithar has promised me that we can do some alchemy work when the portal can maintain itself so we can keep working on our mutagen projects and when we finish this job and return to the capital he is going to continue tutoring me in basic magic and safe applications of it. I might even get my own spellbook.   But, the sun is starting to set and the Generals have been gone for a number of hours. Gwynithar believes they have finished the job and will be back in just a few short hours. Strange though, the sky is alot darker than it usually is, the sun barely glows against it... I know there are some superstitious types who would call this a bad omen but I've never believed in that.
