While the Harvesters deal with the parts taken from people, the Silk Road deal in the transport and sale of people as a whole. Essentially the biggest human trafficking group ever active, the Silk Road sell heavily augmented people to shadowy buyers to work as incredibly effective slave labor or sell second-hand Husks to those who wish to have the perks of immortality without paying for a new body off the shelf. Despite the history of the real Silk Road being Chinese, this Silk Road is run exclusively by the Japanese. With links to the Yakuza, the Silk Road have ensured their place among the most influential powers in the city; for better or for worse.
Despite its many flaws, The Silk Road remains the only reliable method of acquiring Black Market Military Grade Husks. These may or may not be second hand but the hardware you get once uploaded into one of these bad boys makes you nearly unstoppable, so people don't particularly give a shit. The Silk Road are very wary of who they sell these Husks to and require you to pay up front, in cash, thousands of dollars.
