Fatebreaker Class Starship

Using the Varnian Mechanics research, Blackblade Armamentssucceeded in building three spelljamming helms. The first one was put on a starship prototype called Fatebreaker. Two Fatebreaker class starships were further built: Skyspear and Edgewalker.   In addition to having a spelljamming helm, Fatebreaker class ships had powerful sky keels and advanced impulse skysails. They also boasted shielding capable of surviving normal outer space as well an experimental drive that would enable the ship to take advantage of spells like teleport and planeshift. Neither ship saw combat however, as they were seen as tools of rebuilding the world after the War of the Varn, rather than weapons. As such they were hidden.   Skyspear was recovered by the Ravenguard circa 25 AV. It was unfortunately destroyed when the group fought and defeated the dragon Ashardaloth.   Fatebreaker itself was intentionally sequestered by Murad Draracle himself (the grand master of Blackblade Armaments) so that it could be found in the future by the adventurers known as the Fatebreakers (the ship was actually named after them and not the other way around), and used in their fight against the Aboleth Empire in 1736 AV. The Fatebreaker and her crew are considered MIA after they heroically sacrificed themselves by going to the Far Outside to seal the gate opened on Erdos by the Aboleths. (Fatebreaker campaign)   The Edgewalker was discovered by the adventurers called Raven Swords in 1738 AV. Being spiritual successors of the Ravenguard, the group renamed the ship to Ravenspear. They also replaced its damaged impulse skysails with an Elemental Engine (a technology imported from planet Eberron). Ravenspear was destroyed while the group was trying to reach Orcus during the Blood Moon event of that year. (The Dead of Winter campaign)
