Order of the Amber Dawn
The Order of the Amber Dawn is one of the nine sub-orders of the Theurgic Order of Mages.
The Amber Dawn is associated with the Sephira of Knowledge and Truth, and is dedicated to seeking truth in all things. To do this, Amber Mages are often deeply philosophical and regard logic and reason above all other powers. Amber Mages simultaneously embrace the research and study of magic while also strictly limiting its use by members of the order.
Amber Mages are generally thought of as cold or unfeeling, and with an intense desire to guide and control the other orders' actions toward what the Amber Dawn determines to be the superior outcome. As such, they are often considered arrogant and controlling by the other orders. However, due to the Knowledge Sephira's position at the top of the Tree of Sephiroth, other mages still defer often to Amber Mages despite disagreeing with them or chaffing against their communication style.
Though other orders may see Amber Mages as impersonal, they are generally excellent listeners who sincerely wish to understand other mages' positions. Amber Mages are also exceptional at receiving criticism and changing their position when provided with new information. Their separation from their own emotions can make them notably gracious and easy to work with.
