The Cleansing
A brave new world, where we can live in peace, in harmony. Where we can avoid the mistakes from the old world, avoid pollution, avoid destroying the ecosystem. Those were the promises they made to us. To this day, they swear they are upholding that, that even as they kill off their so-called murder bears, they are still being respectful for the ecological balance. Lies. Every single claim they make, naught but lies. That is all their promises amount to. Lies for the uneducated. Propaganda, meant to make us close our eyes from the truth. Do not fall for it. Think. But that is for our protection, you say. Is it, really? Could we not hold them off through other means? We have massive walls around our city, yet somehow violence is needed to keep us safe? Lies. But let's for a moment pretend otherwise. What about the bigger lie they told us? That this city was somehow built with ecological care? That an area this large and fertile was somehow carefully scouted and handpicked by people that took their time, rather than just rush down from orbit? And you believe that? Of course not. Let's call the clearing of the First City what it actually was. A cleansing. A genocide. The murder of every creature that lived there, and an attack on the very ecosystem that surrounds us. An area this size could never have been cleared without completely destroying the very life it supported. Any forced migration would be too hard to handle, too large in scale for a mere few thousand to manage, would have toppled the balance of the food pyramid all around it and cascaded. Yet look around. So much life still exists. This means no forced migration took place. Just murder. Which still hurts the natural balance, but with a far slower effect. And we still see the effects. Why do you think the Ursa Majors attack more and more these days? Because the ecosystem was damaged so badly by the Cleansing, that they now are trying to reach a place they were banished from, because that is the place they need to be at. That's right, our karma has arrived as those we displaced are trying to retake what is fairly theirs. So think about that, next time you look around and somehow still feel pride, seeing what we built. Think of the cost. Think of how many millions of animals they butchered to make it possible in the first place. And remember what they promised. A promise they broke even before they awoke us. Lies. That is all they have for us. Be better. Remember that. And spread the word. The government lies to us all.
