Monarch
The role of Monarch is divided into two groups of terms: Emperor/Empress/Empren and King/Queen. Those that are bestowed this title are the heads of their kingdom or empire respectively. They are not only rulers by title, but also rulers by blood. The title is passed down from the original pairs that created the kingdoms/empire to begin with. Without this blood relation, the title is removed. They then become the "Former Monarch" with whatever title they previously had inserted.
Qualifications
The chosen heir goes through a few years of training, as well as schooling of their choice. They must be able to past tests not revealed to the public, show proficiency in empire/kingdom law, be able to capably command the Royal Department Of Security Investigation, and knowledge of battle strategies. In the rare occasion the heir dies, either before or after ascension to the throne, the next in line must be able to step up to the role. They to must be able to fulfill these before ascension.
Requirements
The requirements for this title is to be a direct descendent of the first Monarch couple or currently married to a direct descendent. They may only gain the title once the previous one has stepped down. After the death of the direct descendent or a divorce, the spouse loses the title and becomes the "Former Monarch".
Appointment
The former Monarch has to be removed or have died before the new one can gain the title. A former High Priest/Priestess of the Gods must be the one to officiate the ceremony, if the current Monarch is still alive they nominate their heir, and the royal families must make their decision on if they support the new candidate.
Responsibilities
It is their job to make sure there is no corruption among the nobility, as well as that their people are being treated fairly. They must balance the royals, nobility, commoners, and foreigners in order to keep everyone appeased. They are also responsible for pardoning criminals, holding an open forum where complaints and requests are made, instituting new laws, and repealing outdated laws.
Benefits
As the Monarch, they are in charge of the entire Kingdom/Empire. So naturally, they are essentially free to do as they wish with little ramifications. They are still required to maintain the peace and their public image. With enough public outrage however, they can be removed.
Accoutrements & Equipment
They are all created a custom crown and scepter to represent the new ruler. A cape is passed down from the original couple is commonly worn as well.
