Celebration of Light
The Celebration of Light is a ceremony and festival to honor the celestial bodies of the pantheon. The Sun, Moon, and Star also oversee the coming of age ceremony of those in Roris. It not only introduces the new adults, but also completes the naturalization process for those wanting to become citizens of Roris.
History
The tradition first began the second year of Roris's Original Pair's reign. It honors and celebrates the three Celestial Gods. It also brings light to the odd situation of the 24 hour light. Every year on the same day the celestial body of that year illuminates the Kingdom of Roris. On days it's the Moon, the Sun and Star withhold their light. This goes for if the Sun or Star is the light of that year. Each one hold the 24 hour long job of lighting the kingdom.
Execution
The ceremony itself changes depending on which God it's being dedicated to. The High Priestens of the God also changes the ceremony depending on the God's wishes. However, the ceremony always begins on the twelfth hour. It continues for three hours in total until the festival begins. Those who are coming of age must attend all three hours of the ceremony. The final act is dubbing those coming of age, adults. During the festival there is an organized booth for those who wish to be citizens. They have a special face painting ritual done and a list of asks they must complete. This process can only be done after a year of living in the Kingdom of Roris.
Participants
The ceremony itself is officiated by the Roris Royal Family and one of the Head Priestens of the Sun, Moon, or Star. This will depend on which celestial body is causing the light on that day. The role/position rotates every year. The role of the Royal Family and the High Priestens always stays the same. The new adults roles also always stay the same.
Observance
This celebration always happens on the seventh day of the year when all twenty four hours are filled with light. The day itself is referred to as "The Day of Light". All of Roris is at a stand still for that day, it is seen as a Kingdom wide day off. The only work that is done is the work of those conducting festivals and ceremonies.
