The Devil

The Fifteenth

Mythology & Lore

The Birth of Demons
The Tower emerged as the harbinger of cataclysm, a deity embodying upheaval and destruction. It found its purpose when The Devil began to amass corrupted souls, bound by sin and desire in his infernal domain. In an act of violent creation, The Tower twisted these tainted spirits into demonic abominations, grotesque reflections of their sins and vices.

This act drove a deep wedge between The Tower and The Devil. Where The Devil sought to ensnare mortals with temptation and chains of their own making, The Tower wielded raw, impartial ruin, subverting even The Devil’s influence to inflict irreversible consequences. Their rivalry has shaped realms of both divine and mortal existence, with The Devil seeking to reclaim his dominion over lost souls, while The Tower continues to unleash chaos.

The rift between The Tower and The Devil culminated in an ancient conflict known as The Fracturing. In this battle, devilish legions clashed against the demonic forces of The Tower, resulting in the catastrophic rupture of once-stable realms and the emergence of shadow lands haunted by abyssal and chaotic beings alike.

Night of the Veil
In an ancient age, The High Priestess and The Moon faced a great calamity when The Devil sought to pierce the divine mysteries guarded by them. Using corruption and temptation, The Devil attempted to shatter The Moon’s dominion over dreams, plunging the world into a nightmare realm where shadows came alive. The High Priestess, wielding her hidden knowledge, sealed the rift between realms, but at the cost of weakening her divine bond with The Moon.

Celebrated in late autumn, when nights grow longer. Devotees hold candlelight vigils and perform rites to ward off evil dreams and seek protection from malevolent forces. Temples stage plays reenacting the struggle, ending with a ritual where participants write their fears on paper and burn them, symbolizing the sealing of darkness.

Divine Origins

Cataclysm and Corruption
While The Tower and The Devil are at odds, their connection is undeniable. The Tower brings sudden destruction, exposing the consequences of succumbing to The Devil’s temptations. This dynamic represents the cycle of corruption followed by harsh lessons learned. Followers of The Tower see themselves as agents of necessary change, breaking the chains of sin and complacency that The Devil forges. On the other hand, followers of The Devil view this enmity as a challenge to seize power before the fall.
