Kingdom of Adzade
Centered around the former Eleyhan city of Tahal Thuraykha, the Kingdom of Adzade formed in the years following Skyfire when the Adza, a large confederation of Yobodji tribes, swept north from the Djenagwi forest and conquered the Empire of Eleyha's Tahal Province. Now the Adza form the kingdom's ruling class while the conquered Eleyhans act as serfs, laboring in fields and workshops for their Adza masters.
Structure
After conquering the region, the Adza chiefs divided the province among themselves. Each chief then subdivided their land among their warriors (the greatest warriors getting the most lucrative property and the less distinguished making do with the rest). Each warrior was then given responsibility for the serfs working that property (farms and fishing villages in the rural regions, shops and workshops in the urban areas).
The chiefs, now calling themselves kings, attend the Council of Kings in Adzade (formerly Tahal Thuraykha) where decisions are made by consensus. The council often requires substantial deliberation to reach consensus, and its judgements are slow to arrive. In the event of war, the council elects a Warlord to unilaterally lead the war until its conclusion or the Warlord's death, capture, or other incapacitation. During wartime, matters of state are still determined by consensus among the kings.
