Karhadan
The Kingdom of Karhadan was once known as Urziksran and was a human tributary state of the giants' Kingdom of Tuongraunimozg. After its conquest by Eleyha, Urziksran was renamed Eyerey Thuraghi, or “Terrible Forest” in Neruan. As per the Eleyhan practice of displacement, the natives were scattered around the empire and eventually disappeared due to intermarriage with other groups. Early in the Third Age, Karhads from Icecrown conquered Eyerey Thuraghi and named their new kingdom Karhadan.
Karhadan is a loosely governed nation and the difficulties in traveling the forest, even the sparser southern coast where the kingdom is located, give each region considerable autonomy. Most settlements consist of a cleared area of farmholds and a wooden fort where the thane lives. The largest settlements resemble motte-and-bailey castles with a village in the bailey and the thane living in the motte. The abandoned, overgrown cities of of the Eleyhans are rumored to be cursed and the Karhads give them a wide birth. Most Karhads have continued to worship Aidan even though the Deep Rot is not a threat in their new lands.
The dangers and difficulties involved in settling deeper into the forest have led to extensive raiding. As the population has increased, Karhads have begun sailing south in search of plunder and fertile lands in which to settle.
Living in such a dangerous region has shaped the Karhads into a toughened race of warriors. Karhads are known for their loyalty, and once one swears an oath of fealty, he honors it to the death.
