The Knightly Order of the Claw

Structure

Ran by Grandmaster Keller Kiel   Has 3 claws ocen, sky and earth with seperate sub-grandmasters   Each has officers which are knights of the order and junior officers who are squires   The majority of the troops are recruited from the general populus as an alternative to paying the tithe. They are recruited for 2 years. To become a knight you must be part of the claw by choice (not tithe alternative) and make a pledge to a current knight to sponsor you to become a squire.

Culture

The Claw is well respected throughout the land. They are used across the lands as town guards, shipmen and patrol the mountains and skies to keep the peace. There is a level of friendly rivalry between the claws but work well together   There are some minor off shoots which specialise in other aspects such as training royal guards, protecting the Armagh forest and protecting the borders of Stalathia. These are referenced within The Claw as the spurs

Assets

As the state military they have access to a large amount of funds with access to private blacksmiths, leather workers, shipbuilders etc. They can outfit the entire army in basic armour and weaponry and the knights and squires of the order in plated armour
The Earthen Claw
The Earthen Claw make up the vast majority of the forces, they are the foundation of The Claw, varying from town guards to occupying the grand towers of Velena. Whist they are spread out they are trained well and formidable
The Sky Claw
The Sky Claw looks after the skies and high reachs of the Calchec Mountains - using Griffon Mounts these skilled aerial combatants dominate the air
The Ocean Claw
Whilst this is the smallest of the 3 major claws they care for the oceans around Sinastra and are the first line of defence against invasion or attack. They also act as peacekeepers aboard offical transport craft coming in and out of the land. They also have authority on the canals of Sinastra for goods being transported.
The Spurs
These specialist units are subsections of the major claws and are specially trained
Gems of Sinastra
This subsection of the Sky Claw are specialist in operations within the Calchec mountains, especially the caves
The Guardians
Coming from all parts of the Claw, these warriors are the best of the best tasked with the defence of both the city and mountain of Velena, the sleeping Sinastra and the royal family.
The Forest Keepers
These rangers are part of the Earthen Claw, they are adept in tracking and survival in the deep Armagh Forest
The Dragon Turtles
The subsection of the Oceanic Claw - these combatants specialise in underwater operations, often dealing with sunken ships and underwater threats such as merfolk.
